Is Blair, Thatcher in disguise

Personally,

I was against this war, it was Imperialism at its worst, British lives were lost for a political electoral gamble - that worked.

I hated Thatcher but she was politically astute. Only making one electoral cock up. Blair learnt from her, and has acted accordingly.

Coming from a party of Internationalists, this man is making me sick.

Where has the Ethical foreign policy gone, we still allow the trade of instruments of torture, we turn back refugees from a war of our making, we bombed innocents in Iraq but allow death squads to roam in Chad and Darfur.

Falklands was about oil, Iraq was about oil. Our lads die to fill the gloated oil barons pockets. Blair has sold out socialism and has recreated himself as the archetypal capitalist - Thatcher.

Good bye Blair and good ridings Thatcher.

Rant over.

Rant over.

"Tony Blair has said he would have sent a task force to liberate the Falkland Islands if he had been Prime Minister when Argentina invaded 25 years ago.

The Prime Minister praised the courage of Lady Thatcher who took the decision to try to retake the desolate South Atlantic islands which had been a British Crown colony since 1833. "I have got no doubt it was the right thing to do," Mr Blair said. "But for reasons not simply to do with British sovereignty but also because I think there was a principle at stake."

In an interview for the Downing Street website with Simon Schama, the historian, Mr Blair pointed out that the casualty rate in the 11-week Falklands conflict was higher than the combined number of British deaths so far in the four-year Iraq war and six-year Afghanistan operation.

At the end of the battle for the Falklands, 253 British soldiers had been killed and 649 Argentines. By contrast 134 British soldiers have died in Iraq, 52 in Afghanistan.

Monday was the 25th anniversary of the low-profile Argentine landing on South Georgia that preceded the full-scale invasion on April 2.

I've lost all faith in Blair now. Amazing I was very very pro. I think the mans a bit of an unfunny joke now, and I can't see myself voting in the next election as I simple don't trust anyone anymore.

I've been able to vote twice, and I have - both times for Labour. I'm a little embarrassed.

At least Thatcher was up front about her cuntyness. Blair hides behind a veil of false concern and superficial smiles.

Hate them.

I can't really summon up any more than a mild dislike of blandy Blair. I think people forget just how much they HATED Thatcher.

And what of John Major? Did we get into any wars under his leadership? And he stabalised the economy too.

I used to think he was boring but only now do we find out that all that time while he was preaching "family values" he was also endulging in COPULATION with Edwina Currie. And frankly, I'd have done the same in his position as NORA looked rather dull.

Norma and Edwina? I think I'd have tried to swap them both for one good one.

Yes but I bet Edwina was filthy. And probably still is.

No one's thanking you for that horrific image.

Have you only just realised?

What planet have you been on?

I was never a Blair fan, I had joined the Labour Party at 17 and left nearly 20 years later, because I disagreed with the Blair, new Labour take.

But the last 24 month, since the Iraq war, he is getting worst and worst and so is the Home Office ministry, what is the difference now between 1983 Thatcherism and the Labour Party 2007?

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I think i trust Blair least because of his supposedly devoted christianity mixed into his psyche. So so drab. A product. A carefully manicured act of pristinity and manoeuverability and media deterrence, all with religious abandon. This spotless beast has a neat, lordly justice in his paws. No doubt. No apology. No humanity. Just sainthood and yet-to-be-written moral invisibility.
I don't see him as evil or necessarily Thatcheresque in his reservoir of imperiality, but he is a winner. And to win and retain power means playing the perfect role amongst a percentage of voters whose number will dwindle. Just a game, innit. A practise.

I wish i understood my thoughts or could word them well.
But what i am trying to say at all is that he untrustworthy, but an actor of high regard. Just hope Brown is a stronger person who could stand determined and aggressive at times in cross-Atlantic debate.

To suggest blair is Thatcher in diguise is an insult to Thatcher. And that is saying something.

He has the courage to go against his own party if he feels strongly enough about an issue. Gone are the days of high unemployment and high inflation, he's lowered crime and has introduced a minimum wage.. I'm not justifing an illegal war, just trying to point out it wasn't all bad. Its up to you whether you think he was mislead into Iraq or he lied.
