Is Adam Virgo undroppable?

yesterday was the biggest joke inclusion of Virgo of the season.

Virgo was brilliant in defence against Man City, so Adams replaced him with an unfit Hawkins.

To make it worse, Adams played Virgo in some kind of winger/attacker type role and made him captain, despite Virgo looking ill and not really doing anything.

Surely the new signing was worth a go in that position rather than an unfit Virgo??

It's just ridiculous.

I don't think the new signing had even trained with the squad yet, so to put him in the starting line up away from home (with one or two other regulars unavailable) would have been a gamble.

Agree Virgo was dreadful yesterday though. On the plus side, Livermore (while not spectacular) looked pretty solid and much more along the lines of what I was expecting from him.

I agree i feel that livermore is looking better as the games have gone on.

If we are playing Thornton as the attacking central mid then i would have Livermore as the defensive mid.

No player should be undroppable but if he is undroppable atleast play him in a position that he is decent in. Has to be centre back or right back.

As Hawkins is another of Mickys undroppables (even when ill and injured) then it looks as if Virgo is set for right back.

there is no way virgs is a better right back than whingy...he's good cover there in a position we had no cover in really last season which was why el abd kept getting played there but whingy is cleaarly the best full back at the club.

Must disagree as Whing has been the weak link in the back four this season and I stick by my view that come Christmas he will not be the No 1 right back.

Must also add that if we are to become promotion candidates we must scrap the idea of playing Virgo in midfield.

I know you don't rate Whing.

Last season I couldn't help picking him out as number 1 hoofer and it irritated me. However, from what I've seen this season, he seems to have improved in that department and is much more willing to travel with it and pick out some decent passes. Also seems more willing to get forward for overlaps and good support play too. I've never really doubted his solidity in defending, although he can be prone to diving in at times and picking up too many cautions.

Is your reasoning that he will be out of favour come Christmas because of his history with MA at Coventry ?
