Gods country fortnightly
Hate it, I get stuck in M25 traffic on route and get back super late.

Feels like all our home games are on UK telly, away matches are not

Yeh. The least bad alternative kick off time.

I too long for Saturday 3pm every week, but that would probably only be because we were relegated

The other thing is that is all the TV dates announced so far, the next 'un-announced' home game is Spurs, and that will no doubt also move for TV.

The earliest 3pm Saturday home game we can expect will probably be Burnley on 19th Feb!

11 Dec Spurs - 3pm (likely to be on TV)
14 Dec Wolves - 7.45 Tue
26th Dec Brentford - 3pm Sunday (Boxing Day)
15th Jan - Palace - will be moved for TV
8th Feb Chelsea 7.45 Tue
19th Feb Burnley

Suits me nicely. Out for some food before, always a great atmosphere at the game. Much better than Sundays and 1230 Saturdays are rubbish. Sure, it's down to TV but we wouldn't be fielding a team packed with full internationals if it wasn't for TV money. Just how it is.

Initial concern as take my 7 year old son, but he will be fine with it and I always enjoy games under the lights.

The booziest of days when its 5:30pm so happy enough. Does merge into the evening but just becomes a football all dayer

3pm best though

Part of the reason may be the growing overseas market for televised EPL football

For the handful of us on this side of the earth it's a right pain. It equates to 1:30 a.m or, when the clocks change, 2:30 a.m in Japan. You can give or take an hour or two either side for Aus, NZ and the other Asian countries in this neck of the woods.

For that reason I'm a big fan of midday kick offs. Failing that a 3pm k.o is doable. Next up would be a proper night game so that I'm fully asleep before the game starts and can watch the replay the following morning as if it were live. I go to bed quite late so 1:30a.m kick offs are just about when I'm going to sleep so I get mightily tempted to stay up or listen on the radio while I fall asleep.

If I was in England and an actual match going fan I don't think I'd have too big a problem with them.

Like most things it’s all about your personal situation. A couple of years ago I hated the 5.30 as it meant my youngest (8 then) couldn’t go, now he’s 10 it’s ok so I’m not that bothered. I like the lunchtime KO for the same reason but now both my lads play football Saturday and Sunday mornings the lunchtime KO has become the biggest pain.

The next one for me will be my oldest (13) now wants to come to evening games, now this is a quandary as these have ALWAYS been my ‘beer with mates, no kids’ KO time and I sort of don’t want that to change but that’s life.

It sort of takes up most of Saturday really and that is why it’s a pain for me.

I play golf Saturday morning and finish around 1….if KO was 3 I would go straight to P&R and the ground. Now it’s finish golf, go home by 1:30 get P&R at about 4, so the problem s that is not long enough time to get out and about….then of course getting home about 8:30 means dinner time on a Saturday is crap as either throw a pie down your face at the amex, or eat around 9 on a Saturday!

I am still a 3 o’clock Saturday dinosaur

1. Nothing beats 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. You have your morning and you have your evening - perfect.
2. 5.30pm means you lose your afternoon AND evening. This means you lose one of the two evenings per week you can do something meaningful with the family, and that is a cause of grief in our household.
