A lot of these Irish players were only Irish because of parents and grand parents. Tyson Fury and myself as well.

Joe O'Cearuill is the first that pops to mind, which is a little odd considering he was less than impressive.

George O'Callaghan was fairly crap for us, fell out with Dick Knight over wages when we were looking to turn his loan move in a permanent deal.

High up on the South Downs.
Mark Yeates on loan from Spurs. He ran around with his head down. Described by some on NSC as being on another level to the rest of the team. This was meant to be a compliment. In reality a bit of a headless chicken.

Gerry Ryan is etched within the clubs history and as a Sussex resident many of us have shared a chat with this affable guy.

But I am struggling to get him into the 'best' category, sadly.

Everywhere
Paul McCarthy had a decent career after nearly making nearly 200 appearances for us he was part of the Wycombe side that went on a great cup run in the early 2000's.

Ah yes, one of the worst players ever to wear the stripes (and there's some stiff competition). Frank Stapleton was another, of course, although in his defence, he was a decent player for other clubs. Just not us.
