Yeah I loved it.

Haven't watched it back , as I fear it may have aged poorly.

I've watched a few episodes and they've still got their magic and myth.

And it's worth it for a young Ray Winstone long before he told us to "bet in play - now!"

Maybe it’s because u2 were/are the biggest rock band in the world, and to ever come out of Ireland, that they made more appearances at the BBC than say Jedward?

I've no particular objection to U2, but was just annoyed at the lack of imagination in showing them again and again in quite a short show. Its like them picking Man Utd games at every round of the FA Cup. U2 fans would have been served by less and then there would have been room for Neil Hannon who was left out:

Some very good stuff posted on this thread. One omission is a mate of Bono's. I love the whole of the album that this came from:

I’m surprised there isn’t more Woftones on this thread, stuff like” Men behind the wire”, “Rifles of the IRA”, “ Kinky Boots” etc.

Maybe not, on second thoughts.

You obviously know your stuff on this genre LLF. I deliberately avoided one of the videos I might have posted otherwise! Grace is actually a very emotive ballad about a genuine love story but is more likely to be appreciated by some than others!

I also avoided Fields of Athenry in lieu of this evening’s clash BEFORE the big game!

I’m not a big fan of the Wolftones, or their views, on the whole, but, there again, I don’t think they should be banned from performing them.
