Feel for the ref as he has tried to let a game go on and now has created a situation where no matter what he does he will be hated!

The discussion of how long of a match has to be played was brought up when we faced FC united.

OFFIAL THREAD**FC United of Manchester v Brighton and Hove Albion** FC FA cup replay

The laws of the game says abandoned games are replayed unless competition rules state otherwise. The fa cup rules do not state otherwise, neither (as far as I can determine) do the league rules.

80mins may be enough for bookies to pay out (I don't know about that), but as far as I can determine the whole match has to be played for the result to count in the league.

I think the atmosphere has picked up now, because Ipswich are so far ahead and inevitably they want the game to finish. The referee becomes the villain if it can't be completed.

I just thought it was a tad quiet earlier on, people were sucking in the novelty experience and nervously awaiting the abandonment.
