Could American Express and Nike possibly be any more visible in the world?

I wouldn't have thought so, people spend money on their Amex cards, and kids wear Nike absolutely everywhere.
So are McDonald's and Coca-Cola but it doesn't stop them using more than half their budget on marketing.

Have any of them succeeded really?

I supposed the Glazers have rinsed United for all they were worth with a debt leverage model.

Jurys out on FSG getting their money back and the two old theatre guys from the muppet show that owned Liverpool before that nearly went bust.

The villa guy and the Sunderland guy both pumped tons of money in before crashing and burning.

The Beta Gamma Phi preppies trying to buy Everton appear to be imploding.

I'm not sure where all these people are seeing the undervalue from? Arsenal guy has done 'ok' I suppose but no certainty it will work out long term.

It seems that it's really murderous regimes and money launderers that get the most out of the whole gig. Which of course, is a real boon for the beautiful game.
In top of those mentioned there’s also Bournemouth and Palaces majority owners,

Can still remember my one and only attempt to visit Portman Road back in the 1980's, the train, packed to the rafters with Albion fans, broke down in the middle of nowhere, by the time we limped into Manningtree station long after the match had started, the bar had been drunk dry and much of the train wrecked. The police were waiting for us.
I was on that train, the pub on Manningtree station made up for missing the game!!!

And let's not forget Nike.
Didn't PBOBE mention that we're heading to Japan pre-season because of the exposure to help American Express and Nike be more visible?

We might not be run yet by the Yanks but we're certainly sleeping with them.
Because of course there are not enough games played in the regular season and these precious little players are never knackered after playing so many games in a season

So I tell you what,we will shat on the FA cup replays so our darlings can get some beauty sleep, but so they don’t forget how to
Play footie by not having these replays we will instead fly then half way round the world to
Play meaningless games in foreign climates so the advertisers can show off a new logo. And of course they will all come back refreshed ready for another set of games

MODERN FOOTBALL IS TRULY SHIT.

Newcastle United will fly to Australia from Heathrow straight after their final game of the season at Brentford to play two friendly games.
This is a group of players in which several will be involved in the European Championships a couple of weeks later.

Like all new promoted clubs their fans are full of confidence. Luton fans thought the home atmosphere would keep them up 🤣
A bit of enthusiasm and optimism is no bad thing – and why not go in like that, rather than cynical and pessimistic?

Where it reaches Gold status is the likes of the Leeds 3-year plan when they came up a few seasons back:
– Year One: PL top 10, plus a domestic Cup Final
– Year Two: PL Top 4 and Champions League qualification
– Year Three: PL Champions

The absolute conviction with which they swaggered around other clubs' messageboards, informing us all that this plan was a nailed-on certainty "because Bielsa", was hysterical.

Looking forward to going away to the Tractor Boys. Portman Road is a ground I’ve not been to so hopefully that will be rectified next season. I’ve even done a ‘dry run’ on train travel. From Liverpool Street Greater Anglia trains take an hour to get to Ipswich and you can get a return fare with a rail card for £25. Knowing my luck the fixture will now be a midweek evening game or on a bloody strike day.
Have you accounted for the fact you'll need to go back in time to reach that part of the world?

To be fair I would have thought bloom and the chosen one would have had the same 3 year plan. Certainly we were told we would need to push on.

Can't argue with any of that.

Managers and players are constantly whining about fatigue and yet are quite happy to go off on these pre-season tours around the world to play totally pointless and meaningless games with the added risk of injury. The club putting money before the players' welfare? Looks like it doesn't it.

If players and managers are truly concerned about fatigue as a result of playing too many games then they need to step up and do the Zammo. Just say NO!

That bad is it? For the travel part I just researched train times and fares. As for the locals, now that is an unknown quantity. I did go to Norwich for our last away fixture there. The pony and trap was fine.
