I seriously don't get the banner? Do they mean you can buy a stadium with money? I'm rather confused, but we won - they lost and they can take their odd banner home with them...How rather bizarre....if you're going to try and insult someone at least make sure you're insulting!

So what,now if they were to sell out the naming rights to Portman road i would agree,the Amex is brand new,it does not matter,they best embrace change as they will struggle to get back to the premier league,without money,perhaps a rich billionaire will fund them? then what will they say? i say f*** em!!!!

To be fair I spoke to numerous Ipswich fans in Brighton after the game and they thought the whole episode was a total embarassment to their club. I have been to Portman Road a number of times and although their ground is a bit dated now I've never had any problem with the supporters and found them very easy to get on with. Even the ones in the pub after game in town were great considering they had just lost 3-0. I think it has to be put in perspective that a couple of inbreds tarnished their reputation a bit today (and that was a quote from an Ipswich fan in the Cricketers pub tonight). We've got our own idiots and people should not get too wound up about it. In the end all it seemed to achieve was to get the Albion fans going even more - talk about shooting yourself in the foot!

I'm not upset in the slightest. Didn't really understand it! If it's a dig so what? I imagine it was 1 or 2 people thinking it would be a laugh. Those who then held it up probably didnt even know what it said and just went with the flow.

Cant really say its a reflection on all Ipswich fans! Plus, fwiw I think Portman Road is an ace ground. Really enjoyed the trip their this season bar the result!

I think we are getting a little carried away with this...

A "few" idiots hung up a banner ( every club has some ) clearly knowing nothing about our recent struggles and efforts.

It was just a pop at cashing in on naming rights for stadiums i guess, with old grounds they have a point... (sort of) but not with new stadiums.
The fact that AMEX have been in Brighton for god knows how long and is a huge employer in the area, they probably had no idea.

Those people adding Ipswich to the likes of Palace and Pompey etc as rivals because of it....really ?.....move on

It was pathetic, because no one had a f***ing clue what they were trying to say. Maybe doing it at Chelsea or Manchester City may have made more sense, but to be honest they just made every Ipswich supporter in that ground today, look like a massive c.unt

I think it would have been a bigger deal if we had lost. Some fans get angry at our opponents just for singing when their team is playing well/winning (one guy was going nuts with Millwall fans for singing when they were 2-1 up, not in a 'only sing when you're winning' way, but in a 'if you don't shut the f*** up I will rip your throat out' way). If those fans who lack a certain degree of perspective, already upset by the banner, could have caused trouble. But, they didn't.


I think their second banner would have been tolerated a bit more, if their first hadn't been so antagonising. It was for NOTOEPPP , Twitter

I was just confused by it, combination of the poor grammar (I didn't notice it at the time, but it just didn't read right), and the idea that they would hold it up at the ground of a team that has our recent history.

I missed the banner, as I walked from Cockroft today and didn't get there till 2.55, but it clearly wound everyone up, as we haven't had an atmosphere like that since Burnley. As for the corporate sponsorship argument, Ipswich were one of the first clubs to name a stand after a company: the South Stand was known as the Churchman Stand after the cigar factory behind the stand. So they can talk. No, I know it's got nothing to do with Palace, but the Ipswich fans do rather remind me of that fellow.

This banner was NOTHING personal, it was from a group of Ipswich fans who are against Modern Football. They have NOTHING against Brighton as a club, they just object to the stadium being named after a corporate giant. I do not see this as pathetic at all, they were meerley getting their views across. Maybe the 'North Stand Kollective' should try doing a display some time.
