IPODS / MP3 Charging

OK everyone some advice please.

I have bought Mini a Shockwave MP3 player for Xmas and it only has a USB cable to charge from a PC.

I have a Rio MP3 player so used the charger with the Shockwave cable (standard USB) and low and behold the device sprang to life and started charging.

Is this OK or am I likely to damage it ? Point is unlikely we would have a laptop when on holiday to charge it.

Anyone know ?

I shouldn't think it will do any kind of damage.

Whether the power is coming from a computer or from the mains is, I would imagine, pretty irrelevant.

I have had one for about a year and they're really good. Well worth the money and are always coming down in price. Also you can get a docking station which acts as a sterio system and is unbelievably loud.

I have an MP3, easy to use...but I thought that Ipod's can only accept a certain format of music whereas MP3s can have more that one type of music?

iPods take pretty much every format these days, so theres generally never a worry

My video takes about 4 hours through USB or 2ish on a proper charge ..

I got a 4 gig Ipod nano last year and takesbaout 2-3 hours to charge!

Best bit of techno I have had in ages!
