Right. As far as I know the Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Desire and IPhone 4 have all got the same spec: 1ghz processor and 256/512mb or ram.

The Samsung Galaxy S looks like a fake iPhone. The iPhone has the apps but is made by apple and has a large amount of restrictions placed on it and the HTC has Android and is amazing.

My vote is neither, get the Desire.

This guys blog has a great perspective and is worth dipping into for its vision and stats, you might be surprised.

Communities Dominate Brands: Final Numbers Q2 of 2010 for Smartphone Market Shares

I haven't voted, as I think they are both hideously overpriced and over hyped and there are plenty of functionally rich phones available at a fraction of the cost. High end phones are a luxury for people too simple to master minor complexity or those shallow enough to think people will be impressed by something so superficial as a phone.

OK I'm done carry on

oh bugger I forgot the surprise is of course that Nokia is still the market monster in terms of global units sold. Put simply either the world outside North America and pockets of EMEA is backward or a bunch of people are paying a premium for a small step in technology - you decide.

USA have until recently been backward in their use of mobile tech, due in large part to adopting a rival to GSM which was used by the rest of the world. they have jumped on the iphone and balckberry as it brings them kicking and screeming upto date, but even then most US blackberries are apparently monochrome models.
