Good people of NSC.

I have been offered an upgrade to one. Has anyone got one?

Is there a problem with the ariel thingy?

Any other problems

It'll be a recall. I think The Mail said it gives you cancer.

If I were you I'd wait until at least tomorrow evening. Apple press conference tomorrow.

Yeah, but the 3g/3gs is like that. I hate mine as a phone. As a device there is nothing in the market place to even get close to rivaling it.

Someone at work asked Orange if he could upgrade today, they said they had stock but only for new customers....! Even quite happily gave him his PAC when he said he'd go to o2 instead

I've got an iPod Touch (which obviously isn't 3g). Lovely device as you say. I'm seriously thinking of taking the plunge and getting an iPhone, but looks like the 4 is worth a swerve for the time being at least.

My mate as just got the iphone 4 as he was fed up with me, my other half and his other half all laughing at him with our iphones.

now he is the one laughing, its blooming lovely. Great screen, superb camera, signal fine.

Head and shoulders above his old 'state of the art' touchscreen Nokia pile of wank.

get it.

love it.

The two biggest problems I have with my 3g as a phone is firstly dropping signal for no reason. I can sit here at my desk in Central London with full signal one moment then all of a sudden I get an alert that I've got a voice mail and the phone hasn't even rung. Likewise the amount of times you drop calls is unreal.

Secondly (admittedly not as frustrating as it's not as common) text messages taking anything from a couple of minutes to arrive up to several hours.

In both instances Apple have blamed the carrier but it's the same issue in the US and I can't believe that AT&T and o2 can experience the exact same issue without the phone being questioned. I never have any issues with my work Crackberry which is also on o2.

That said am I going to get an iPhone 4. You betcha! o2 have got a load more stock in today but I want to hear what Apple have to say tomorrow before taking the plunge. No point getting one if they are going to be recalled. Paddy Power were going 4/6 that it would yesterday. 11/10 that it wouldn't.

I have one and absolutely love it.

I can make the aeiral problem happen if I deliberately hold it that way but it has never been an issue for me in general day to day use. I'm a little peeved that Apple have allowed it to happen but will forgive them for designing such a beautiful piece of kit.

Rumour is Apple started to try and do a 'secret recall' on them and remake them from slightly different materials to solve the signal problems. I'd definitely hang fire until they have got it sorted
