No, but I do stand funny.

Well anyone other than pensioners can surely embrace digital, even begrudgingly. But what does it achieve charging 70+ year olds (like 2 i know) an extra £20 for failing eyesight and inability to use a smart phone?
The good thing here is i believe there is another 12 months grace. Other than that it's a nonsense.

It's classic penny pinching. £20 to pensioners. What a load of old bollocks.
"Oh but they were good to them in lockdown" yes, but they are being shit to them now.
Just so unnecessary.

Obviously not every pensioner struggles with the tech!! But it's shit for those that do. I don't think that's controversial in the slightest. My dear Nan aged 92 who communicates on Whatsapp, does all her online banking etc from her phone and even impartial to a bit of Facebook would probably disagree. And my parents who are 65 and have been 'digital' for the last 20 years or so through work etc....

If by "what a load of old bollocks" you mean your post, then I agree. Unless you can show me something that says the club charges pensioners an additional £20.
Rubbish post that is 100% aligned with your anti-club stance on most things so instantly discredited as such.
I get that it's not aimed at pensioners, but seriously how can it be justified? These arbitrary charges ultimately only serve to alienate people. I am with London Irish on this one, it is complete bollocks that will be quietly forgotten if we are in the league below in 2023.If by "what a load of old bollocks" you mean your post, then I agree. Then in that case, I am sure the club would look sympathetically at their circumstances if approached. So just throwing something out their like "£20 more... pensioners... penny pinching" is just sensationalist nonsense, plainly wrong and should be called out as such. Especially as pensioners actually receive a discounted price and - like all STHs - the option to pay in interest free installments, which actually costs the club money.
If anybody has a genuine reason why they cannot use digital ticketing then like I say, I am sure the club would attempt to find a solution, although reading some of the stuff aimed at the club on here I wouldn't blame them at all if they just said, "**** it."
I can't believe we're now on page 13 ... possibly 14 by the time I hit submit ... on the subject of a possible £20 that might be chargeable the season after next if people want to keep their season ticket plastic card!
Come on you’re not new here, you know how this forum works
I had to change my phone , got myself a new phone , but I could not recover my email as I had forgot the original password , Google would not let me use my old email address, so I put a new email address in to the phone .
So I could not download my season ticket on to my new phone as I had changed my email address, and apparently you cannot change your email address it only works on your original email address, so now I have a card season ticket , I won’t be happy if they charge me extra because they can’t load my season ticket on to my new phone
I know ... I know
And your post has taken us to page 14
Incidentally, having a mobile ticket can save you £15 on a seat change! I changed seats this season ... just shuffled along the row I'm in a bit ... no charge
Yes, old age and dementia is a problem, isn't it.
My mother can't work a phone, she no longer has the mental capacity to learn to use a phone,.but she can manage perfectly well with technology she is used to such as cash, credit card, bus and rail plastic cards. Other than shuffling her off into oblivion, what solutions do you have?
You're being a bit harsh there. My now late father only upgraded from his Nokia ( I think 101 ) in 2019 to a Smart Phone because there were some services he used that he couldn't use on his old phone. My late mother never had a mobile and she died last year too so clearly managed without the 'modern' tech. There are plenty of people that neither want nor generally need modern phones. Hell, I refuse to use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok etc .... yet I work in IT so you would think I would be up with and using the latest developments.
Let's take a guess at the number of fans that use these cards. Even if you said it was a third of the 'attendance' ( unlikely ) - then the income is £200k for the WHOLE season. Does it really cost that much ( less than any players wage or indeed PB's ) ... of course not.
When I go to Sainsburys I don't get charged extra for going through a manned till ( although it would clearly cost more to operate ). If people want to buy these cards then yet them ... at no extra cost. Ridiculous.
Certainly is. You can’t shuffle them off though, much as you might wish for, because it’s against the law.
Does your mum get into the Amex using her season ticket card currently then?
It’s great this modern technology
Fortunately the march of technology is slower up here and so we still have cards. There have been phone tickets issued this year, single game only I think, and they have had a lot of criticism for being slow and inefficient. (And for that matter Burnley still allow shared tickets, de facto if not technically according to the rules, so the other issue doesn't apply.)Certainly is. You can’t shuffle them off though, much as you might wish for, because it’s against the law.
