Sounds like the £20 is de facto the sharing fee because they know people will pass them on

Most people round us now pass QR code on when can't attend and would think this happens far more then the small numbers of tickets passed on. So look out for extra charge coming in for those using phones

As you now have a workaround presumably that means the ticket sharing issue is now closed ?

Just imagine how much this will raise compared to the money paid to Percy Tau's agent.

Surely the best way to reduce the losses is to stop signing so many no hope camels.

Does the loophole definitely work? I think that amexer said he used his phone to take a photo of his son's QR code and vice versa as proof that the updated QR code makes no difference, but they'd still be scanning phones that have valid tickets in the wallet? Like I could take a photo of someone's debit card but it would still be my account that would scan as NFC.

You can't pass them on because they have photo id. Even the daftest steward would be able to tell that my picture on the ST card is not my daughter!

Would anybody with a ST card take the risk of passing them on now it is so easy for the club to identify that the rules are being broken?

It's just another Barber money-making initiative directed at rinsing those who aren't tech savvy or who can't afford the tech. It's a shame but I'm unsurprised.

This and if QR codes are passed around surely cards are MORE secure than mobile tickets.

Even though you can transfer your ticket to whomsoever you wish at zero cost using your QR code photo thingy ? So what exactly is the problem now then ?

This is the equivalent of shops stop accepting cheques or businesses charging a handling fee to do so. Life and technology moves on.

not quite, its like shops only accepting only Googlepay or Applepay, no longer accepting debit cards. its a step to a new tech which assumes special equipment when that equipment is not ubiquitous.

This was never a personal thing. Apart from those that knew who they would share with for season, just believed and still do it is unfair on people that missed odd game especially those that did not know any Albion members. Club have done all they will. with the minor adjustments and this is only answering your thread

Why is it unfair / relevant what format the ticket is in for a game people aren't intending to attend?

Fortunately I have never had the photo on my card checked as it wore off after about 3 weeks of being in my wallet !

Would be surprised if they do anything, to be honest. The club have to be seen to be respecting and upholding the law relating to football tickets, and introducing a scheme that legitimises sharing does that. I'm going to guess that they and the police have more pressing concerns than people bending the rules for the odd game by sharing QR codes in the same way that ST cards used to be shared, particularly if it gets more people into the stadium creating an atmosphere and supporting the team.

I normally transfer my ticket to my brother in law all by the book, however I wanted to give them to a mate this week, so went through the process of transferring them (and would have simply emailed them to my mate instead of my brother in law, those that are in the scheme will know what I mean) however I noticed a print at home option and printed them out, surely that defeats the object as well.
