i feel we will be going backwards if we go for someone who has been manager before and we need a new face and not someone we know

don't understand your logic. Way I see it, maybe naively, is that someone local like Wilkins comes in, ideal for fitness training, which is what it's about at the mo' , players won't be familiar with him, bar one or two, then he's gone before any competitive games.........what's the problem with that ?

is the correct answer - i just cannot see us appointing a genunie interim manager - it makes no sense. The person named this week will be the FT manager in all but name until the poyet appeal is rejected or any subsequent court cases are concluded.

Depends on who we can get. If we have nobody already lined up, then we may have to appoint somebody who is available, but not necessarily someone who TB would want full-time, and allow him to take longer to get the proper target. Who knows.

I think we need someone who has been at the club before, at least that is the general consensus of this thread I think....???

I had noticed that, and it's a good shout.

Sure, we may not all be able to agree on WHO it should be, but at least there is some common ground in that we ALL agree it should be someone who has been at the club before, no question.

I think TB is more savvy than that... (hopefully) I guess we will know by end of the week!

If they've not been at the club before, they'll not know everyone, who works at the club etc. Appointing someone who has been employed before also saves a lot of time shortlisting for the interview process. Makes great business sense. Now is Peter Taylor definitely away with the U20's!?

So, it's agreed, we need to decide between:

A. Coppell
B. Brady
C. Wilkins

any others?
