Yeah, lets just ignore the fact that he took Leicester into the Premiership and also managed a decent season once they were up, despite getting relegated at the end of it shall we?

There are worse choices than Slade - would certainly prefer him to Alan Pardew.

Actually, I did forget he took Leicester up  But then, "also managed a decent season once they were up, despite getting relegated at the end of it" is slightly ludicrous. They got relegated

I've been convinced for a while that Slade will be named next manager, as he's the only candidate I could see who would want the job. It's not a very exciting appointment, he's not a very charismatic man, he plays long ball. However he's never been at a club with money behind it and he's done well at Scarborough and Yeovil with no money, so we could do worse.

Slade did an excellent job with yeovil. no money, small crowd, and yeovil is a right shithole.
They've been in freefall since he left, and if we sort ourselves out we may leapfrog them...

His methods belong in the past. An unthinking, hoof it, blood and thunder mentality. If we appoint Slade, we will be relegated. It must not be allowed to happen.

I don't really know anything about Slade, and therefore have no opinion about him.
I just thought you should all know that.

Do you think Coppell did a bad job then?

We may have been relegated under Coppell, but we had lost 10 games on the trot. So he only had 2/3 season, and the points total shows we would have finished mid-table with him in charge. And then he left us top of League 1.

Adams took Leicester up, and had the whole season to keep them up. Anyway, I didn't say Adams did a bad job at Leicester - I said it was ludicrous to say he had a good season in the premiership when they did get relegated.

I should add, that though Coppell did a great job for us... I have said before that his job was to keep us in the Championship and he didn't manage it...

So when West Brom go down, you'll say Tony Mowbray is a crap manager? The football they're playing, I'd take him like a shot. There's no disgrace in relegation from the PL for newly-promoted clubs given that the odds are stacked so ludicrously against them.

OK... one more time. I was NOT saying Adams is crap because of that season. I said Spider's comment "managed a decent season once they were up, despite getting relegated at the end of it" is ludicrous. How can a decent season end in relegation?

That is all
