just found this post on a yeovil towns fans site

Reliable source tells me that slade is about to be confirmed as new brighton manager. That's why they have signed owusu today on his say so. He is trying to take Nathan Jones with him as assistant but Brighton's chairman doesn't want him back there.

Nathen Jones can go f*** himself.

But their 'i have official info' threads must be as about reliable as ours. Im sure he has had an interview though. Like many others.

But i will no read some of the thread.

And the latest post about 10 minutes ago:

"Chill out guys. Apparently jonesy has already fallen out with skiverton after getting blamed for the defending on saturday. He wants out and brighton have offered him role which will have playing contract this year due to all their injuries. Will be confirmed in the morning."

Not far for either of them to travel for tomorrow night eh? :)

What have you got against Slade? You may have a fine username, but I think you're wrong on this

Did a good job at Scarborough, granted, but other than that he has not achieved very much. Got into the Play-offs with Grimsby and lost, did the same with Yeovil. Personally I don't think that is a good enough record to be our manager. There are better candidates out there.

Surely we can't accept Jones back after what he did there?!

Exactly. It will be a complete FARCE if that little so and so comes back in any professional capacity. But with the way this season is going, who knows.

Sadly nothing would surprise me. Next we will find out that Scott McGleish is being appointed player/coach and Leon Knight as fitness coach.

So took 2 crappy clubs into the play-offs? I would take that

and lost....

Yes he does have experience of saving Scarborough from relegation from the Conference but I genuinely think that we need someone who has experience of doing that in the Football League, like what Paul Ince did at Maccesfield.

I know it may be seen as splitting hairs but I do see a difference between achieving something in the Conference and the Football League.

But he's hardly as bad as you have been saying is he? I mean what had Adams achieved? Took Fulham & Brighton up TEN years ago, and f*** all since. Slade would be a vast improvement

I'd be really happy with slade butjones would have to buy us all a pint. He loves Brighton though, remember seeing him prancing round north laine all dressed in pink once with a great big grin on his face.

In comparison with other people that we have been linked with I think he is VERY low down the list.

Also, what were the reasons why he left Yeovil? Have the full reasons been disclosed yet?

I know that I am biased in the fact that I just plain don't like the man and don't want him anywhere near the job.

Yeah, lets just ignore the fact that he took Leicester into the Premiership and also managed a decent season once they were up, despite getting relegated at the end of it shall we?

There are worse choices than Slade - would certainly prefer him to Alan Pardew.
