Anyone discovered someone in the family:

Fought at Waterloo?
Abolished Slavery?
Swam the channel in a “first” capacity?
Been into space?
Invented something famous?
Wrote the Bible?!
Executed?!!!!

Etc, etc.

Yes, I have a famous ancestor, very close to me, but passed away in 1989.
Can't go in-depth apart from the fact he was world-famous and a bloody nice bloke, like me.

Absolutely nobody famous. Possibly interesting.

Apart from a Spanish bloke who anglicised his name (Felipe to Phillips), became a judge, took a post as a judge in Trinidad, used (or abused) his position, shagging as many locals as he could, and here I am.
I just accept it for what it is. Nothing to be ashamed of (you can't choose your ancestors), but not proud of it either.

That's not fair, you need to give us a clue.

You would all be too young to have known of him.:lolol:

He found fame in the 1920s and was still involved in the late 50s. But he was more prominent to the public from 1923-1938 but on the inside he was top of his game until the late 50s.

Harold Wilson turned him down for honours hence me wanting to ram Wilson pipe, while it was still burning, up his cheeks.

Can't give much more.

Not me ... but this is a link back to the first band you ever saw thread ... which was Slade for me as a 15 year old in 1977.

Met my wife at work in 1980 ... we got married in 1982 ... and I then discovered she is related to Noddy Holder (on her dad's side)!

Back in the late 1940s my mum in law used to push her first born son in his pram in Walsall alongside Leah with Noddy in his pram!
