We need a wall around Sussex and make Kent pay for it, reinstate the monarchy of Sussex either look for a descendant of Harold Godwinson or just crown the duke of Sussex declare independence from the UK and apply to join the EU

Can we kick out all the Brexiteers, preferably send them to Dover where they can support Charlie Elphick!!!

Sussex or what was then the South Saxon kingdom, were the last people to be converted to Christianity, had no idea till someone told me in the pub last night.

Sussex was also the centre of the iron industry of the 13th-16th century’s, and the cannon for the Mary Rose were made in Sussex. The deforestation of the Weald was due to charcoal production used in the iron smelting process.

If we're going to all that trouble we might as well tow Sussex out to the Caribbean...

...then apply to join the EU.

Do that, particularly the last bit, and I'll probably be able to persuade 'er indoors to move to Sussex.

That last bit is your best bit...

So seek independence and then immediately get rid of it again by joining a political and economic union, with a court that holds sway over our laws, and so on....? - some independence  (checks Dictionary for definition of Independence and finds that post's proposal doesn't fit it)

It's a bit like someone declaring "i've completely given up eating meat as it's now against my beliefs and will never consume any ever again" and then they immediately tuck into a bacon sandwich"

Wow, I'd be back on the next flight if all that could happen.

I think additionally we'd need a 'special albion visa exemption' (SAVE) though to get Percy and Mac over. Plus would like to see trump banned for life.

Chris could get the National Team manager's job provided the squad was chosen by NSC and didn't include 50% left backs and the rest be players over 35.

Just got to make sure the Albion can continue playing in the EPL, although at least if not then we'd probably qualify for Europe every season!

Oh I do like a good analogy I think I can see what you mean but just so I have this clear let's suppose hypothetically that a group of people were to declare independence from another group of people that lets use your analogy that they all liked a good bacon sandwich and that while being part of this larger joint group had agreed the rules for the ingredients of this bacon sandwich, now because this new smaller group wanted control regarding the ingredients of the bacon sandwich that's clearly independence I think I get that so far.

Now using the same analogy this newly independent group of bacon sandwich loving people's still need to get ingredients, they could go back to the group they just left or they could get them from another group of people that sell the ingredients for a lower price all good so far, however by doing so they loose any control over how the ingredients were sourced and produced, so while gaining independence they simultaneously loose indipendace and to make matters worse these new ingreadants may have been genetically modified, feed growth hormones or washed in chemical solutions to improve there transportation shelf lifetime, I can see why they would want to give up eating meat!

So to truly declare independence this group of people would need too produce there own ingredients luckly this sandwich doesn't contain any ingredients that could not be sourced from within the group, other wise this independence seeking bacon sandwich loving people's might need to start gaining a taste turnip sandwiches #takebackthebaconroll

Amen to that.

n.b - Any chance of ceding Crawley to Surrey and reclaiming Tunbridge Wells from Kent?

Would give us a nice out ground for our new international cricket team
