I know but search your feelings and you'lll know deep down the chances of us reaching the premiership this season is rather slim.

We said that last season about the SCUM going up

Think the FA cup captures interest for smaller teams playing top teams and big all premiership ties. All depends on ticket procing after that. We have done that well this year so will have decent crowds.
Survival in the PL is also financially massive and managers prefer survival over winning the trophy. Shame football has come to that really.

Fair enough, but the cup has clearly lost it's magic.

Cup final in 2 weeks which will be costing a fortune, train tickets are around £90 and alot are staying for the weekend. Also we will now play them 4 times this season and with there constant long balls and it is on TV its not a surprise that the attendance is poor!

I think the fact we are in a final already, and the interest shown for tickets there shows which game is more important, first cup final since 92 or 5th round against we are playing 4 times in a season

hasn't been the same since the 80's really, some great finals in that decade

spurs-man city
ours
scouse finals
coventry-spurs

the last few at the old wembley weren't up to much, even mancs-scousers,there seemed to be a shft in the atomsphere even back then

couple of great finals at cardiff but doesn't seem to be happening at the new wembley, actually preferred the millenium

the new generation of football fans coming through will wonder what all the fuss is about with the FA Cup
the goal posts:facepalm: have moved,it's all about prem/cham league

There's no excuse, it's a shoddy attendance. Hotbed of football, my a**e.

A bit judgemental, methinks. Must be hard for you to see Liam and Gus doing well at Sunderland.

Attendances generally have been better this year than last. Sunderland are in the Wembley final, have a relegation fight, played a reserve team and were on TV. The perfect cocktail for an only 16k gate.

Disasterous day for Stains, nothing left to play for they may as well come back in August..

Come on lets beat Hull and pray we get home to Sunderland in the quarter..
