I'm sure there is a thread like this somewhere but I couldnt find it...

Sometimes I want music but also want everyone to shut up and the solution is instrumental music. And I'm looking for more since its rare that someone throws instrumental goodies at you.

Here's some of my favorites

Hooso & Ensamble Transmongolia - Hoet Setgel (2005) - I love Mongolian throat song and I like it even more without the throat song. Hosoo's album "Gesang de Himmels" make my top 10 list every day and this is one of the finest tracks once it kicks off half-way through:


Kool and the Gang - Summer Madness (1974) - the perfect song for the first days of spring/summer joy.


Bo Hansson - Born of the Gentle South (1977). Hansson is mainly known for his LoTR album but "Music Inspired by Watership Down" is equally good and this track is pretty ****ing neat.

That's a fine selection, all of which I saw played live by the original bands apart from The Temptations. Brighton Rock really should be part of the Albion's musical canon somehow.

We must be about the same age. Oh my, Sandy Nelson and Duane Eddy, marvellous stuff. My older brother was a Duane Eddy fanatic (still is at 76) he's got every album and single he made. I even remember him taking me when I was about 8, to the Embassy cinema in Western Road to see 'The Wild Westerner' because Duane Eddy had a 2 min spot in it and said about 6 words!
I envy your history of live bands you've seen, I saw a quite a few bands in the 70's . My first ever gig was John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. I suppose the highlights were Deep Purple, David Bowie. The Faces. Roxy Music and believe it or not The Sweet who were one of the heaviest and loudest rock bands I ever saw. My proudest moment though was taking my 2 daughters to see Guns'n Roses + Nine inch Nails+Skid Row+Sound Garden at the old Wembley Stadium back in 1991. That's the closest I ever got to seeing Queen live as Brian May joined Guns'n Roses on stage for a rendition of Tie your mother down and We will rock you.
