i assume he’s one of the 9 out. I wonder if there will be some more news about him in the embargoed section of the press conference as I haven’t seen anything so far.
NINE!!? This injury situation is insane. You would normally fancy us to get a result at Burnley but going there without Lamptey, Hinshelwood, Milner, March, Mitoma, Ferguson, Webster, Enciso & Gilmour means it could go either way.

six feet beneath the moon
that’s a few injuries now where a player has been out, returned and then very shortly been unavailable again, in some cases long-term. you do have to wonder what’s going on at lancing for this to be the case, as a cursory glance at the injury situations at other clubs does not indicate that this trend fits with the submission that ‘everyone has a lot of injuries right now’

Can’t see the full thing unless you have twitter. What does it say?

"To be honest, it hurts a lot of the criticism made to me. I don't look at stuff spoken to me on social media but my dad sends me the stuff from there and it hurts me to see fellow Paraguayans speak out of context, but I'm fine. I just have a bit of excess fluid in my knee.

"I don't have any serious muscle injuries, I'm fine. Perhaps because I've been playing a lot & my knee muscles got inflamed a bit, but this week will be crucial so I can be with the first team & play. I'm keeping myself well & training hard so I don't get those kinds of things.

"I want to be on par with my teammates because it's not easy to play in the Premier League. We have a ton of players who are at an incredible level, there are a lot of players who haven't played a lot but they're great players and I want to be at that level.

"I also want to be 100% when I play for Paraguay. When people say stuff that perhaps isn't convenient to say, it makes someone sad. I'm young & I don't really look at social media but my family does & they get sad, so that makes me sad. But it's best to clear everything up now.

"It depends on how much fluid liquid is gone on my knee. But in my opinion, yes, I've improved a lot but I was told that this stuff can happen but hopefully, I can play in the match everyone wants to play in."
(When asked if he will play in the next game against Man City)

"The liquid was accumulating little by little. Obviously, it was bothering me a little but I just try to be available to play. But it's normal according to the doctors. I just have to work hard so I can be available in the next few games.

"I want to play the Man City game like every player wants to. After the Arsenal game, I felt very great but I still need to play at a consistent rhythm. That's only going to be achieved by playing. I really want to help my team as much as I can.

"I would like to play the Copa America and obviously it depends if the manager calls me up, I'll be ready. Nobody at Brighton has spoken to me yet (in terms of playing in the Paris Olympics), we're still in season and dealing with a bunch of games. So I can't say anything yet.

"The Premier League is a top league. For me, it's the best league in the world but I'm lucky to have the opportunity to play here and I will keep working hard to hopefully be a top player in the future."

And Lamptey?

I mean add a goalkeeper and we could make a starting 11 of injuries.

From the press conference... Webster now available, and a late fitness test for Enciso tomorrow. Other than that the injuries remain the same. Gilmour, Ferguson, Milner, Lamptey, and Estupinan out. Estupinan's season is done. Others arent mentioned as I guess its assumed their season is done.

Still a mad situation to be in regarding injuries. 9 players missing from first team squad. Lamptey, Estupinan, Gilmour, March, Mitoma, Milner, Ferguson, Hinshelwood all out, and possibly Enciso.

Astley, Manchester
It appears that we are playing the rest of the season with a safety first stance regarding injuries.
Get everyone fit for 2024/25, bring in another midfielder and winger ( Nicolas Gonzalez) and off we go next season with a strong squad.
