Struggling to see what kind of team we can put out at the weekend. Can Steele play outfield?
Still not a terrible starting 11. Gross and gilmour haven't played much international minutes this time around I don't believe.

Veltman nicely rested. Igor , webbo and van hecke looking ok.

Adingra hopefully ok.

And would like to see Pedro and fati start.

Bench. God knows.

This. We can still put out a very strong and exciting 1st XI but we won't have strength on the bench with this number of injuries. Hopefully it won't be like this all season now.

Agreed.
Gross and Gilmour both on the bench on Saturday but didn't play - Germany have another friendly tomorrow though.

Dunk, Lamptey and Mitoma all in the video of the players walking/jogging out onto the pitches for training that the club posted today. If they are out training with the squad (or at least “on the grass” as the kids put it) then it’s a good sign none of them are out for too long and there could be a slight possibility one or more of them being involved against Forest.

So lets update this for Burnley . (will update again after lunchtime presser)

I think current state of play: 7 INJURIES, 8th in league, Europa League last 32 or 16 ? , 3 points off 4th ! NOT BAD.

Niggles/Knocks

None afak assuming Lallana back.

Short to Medium term:
Enciso - Training in January
Welbeck - before Christmas/ training
Ansu Fati - up to 3 months / due back February?

Medium term
Estupinan - "2 weeks" - leg out of braces ...apparently according to a conversation he had with fan at Brentford game. Lets see.

Long Term
March - Double operation - Knee - rest of season

No confirmation/update
Webster
Lamptey (Brian Owen hinted this was short term issue)

Red Cards
Back to NONE!

So Fit for Burnley (H) - back to 19 ! outfield first class players i think !!
so perhaps the following + BBB ?

Verrbruggen / Steele
Igor, Milner, JPVH, Veltman, Dunk
Gilmour, Gross, Baleba, Moder, Dahoud, Hinshelwood
Adingra, Buonanotte, Lallana, Mitoma,
Ferguson, Pedro

Thanks for the update but it illustrates what Hinshelwood has achieved during this difficult spell. We've had a terrible injury situation, and two suspensions from players that have the experience to know better, yet he's come in and hit the ground running.
Tomorrow will be tough. I hope fans won't be complacent. It's our third game in less than a week, fourth in 10 days, so the players' loads will be tested. Once we get through tomorrow, we've got longer rest-time between games, and there's the potential of more rotation of the strikers with Welbeck's return within a few weeks.
Really big game tomorrow. Sing up.

Agreed . Its been difficult but 3 wins out of the last 4 during this period is remarkable really - but "crises" like this also gives players opportunities and credit to RDZ for being bold here - and you can argue they've taken them...Igor, Hinshelwood, Buonanotte, Baker Boitey, Baleba have all had starts etc and grabbed their chance.

I know you often get stick for your positivity around the club but this is a good demonstration of the current status and how well we are holding in there under the circumstances.

Hopefully, this won't be needed in a few weeks as we get players back.

Useful updates. Thanks @chaileyjem. I guess tomorrow's team will be picked with one eye on Thursday night. The multiple changes that were being criticised by pundits at the start of the season are starting to show their worth. You wouldn't be concerned about playing Igor, Baleba, Dahoud, Buonanotte, Hinshelwood etc. They are looking more and more comfortable with RDZ's plan. As players return from injury, its going to get to the point where everybody feels valued as an interchangeable part of the machine. Interesting to see Rob Green completely missing this point in connection with the goalkeepers on Wednesday.

Hopefully Dunk will be in sensible mode (as he should be as Captain) and no more Reds, even given the kicking he will get from those northern monkeys...

I think that Adringa is due for a rest. I think he has been another great find this season, but given his age and experience he has been asked to play a lot of football. Hopefully with a bigger squad to select from he can take a bit of a breather, rather than ploughing on and playing himself out of form.

Press conference :

- Lallana is available
- RDZ looking forward to Dahoud/ Dunk returning from suspension
- No timetable for Webster return
- The positive news about Ansu Fati seems to have been ambitious as RDZ suggests its the longer three months out rather than the 6 weeks previously reported. So back in Feb not Jan.

Agreed. He's been utterly brilliant, but had a poor one on Wednesday. That happens at the best of times, but he's been playing the full 90/100 minutes for several games now, many of which have come in quick succession.
We're now getting nearer the situation where his workload can be managed more carefully.
