Injuries

The season is only 3 days old and we have an injury problem. We change the Manager and still this happens. Is there something fundamentally wrong with our training regime. Every good Manager has a good Assistant. Is now the time for Russell to reassess the back room staff and bring in his own men and take a long hard look at what he has. Players should not be suffering from groin strains etc this early in the season.

Better to find the problem now and sort it out now. Davies, Murray and Forster could all feature tonight, and Slade said he is hopeful for Dickinson.

The season is 3 days and you're moaning, that's the problem. If it is a re-occuring problem in the next few months, then by all means start having a go. But not now.

Same for all clubs I think, Swansea are without their £10M+ 'wonder kind' tonight because of a hamstring injury....shit happens.

I am not moaning - I am just pointing out something that everyone on here was highlighting last season when we started bringing in the short term loans to cover our injuries

So what injury did you get that left you with brain damage?

I don't think there's anything wrong with the medical set up which actually has been strengthened this summer by Slade. The issue is more about whether we need another striker which has been discussed before.

Forster and Hart are both knocking on a bit and are injury prone. Murray doesn't want to be here and that's played a big part about why he's nearly always been injured. And although I rate him very highly, we cannot have someone here who doesn't want to play for us so the sooner he goes the better. It's a shame but there we are.

That leaves Davies and Dickinson.

So I think it's about getting another goalscorer in rather than being anything systemically wrong with the club's medical team.

I'm not sure it's necessarily a continuation of last season's problems. Leeds were without their first choice strikers last night, too. I think there's the over exertion of early season, people get over excited to be playing competitive matches, eager to get off to a good start, facing opposition who are also eager and maybe lacking sharpness so lunge in for tackles and miss them.

Dickinson is suffering a knock because of that. His injury was caused by an opponent. Not a factor of the brighton physio set up. Forster's is due to his age and general wear and tear. Hart had a cysts that can't really be blamed on the physio set up, Murray just isn't happy with us so isn't focused.

You reckon? He'd have to be very thick to think that playing on injuries is gonna get him a quick transfer. I prefer to believe that he would rather be playing and is just a bit of a sicknote. Either way we'll be well shot of him when he goes.

Shame,I reckon he could have been one of our best ever forwards, with fitness and a decent run of games.

On the thread title, I agree. we do seem to get more than our fair share of injuries at this club. Maybe all clubs are the same but I just don't notice

I agree with Sneaky George - there is nothing wrong with the medical side. My concern is the actual training. Walsall on Saturday seemed to be a yard faster than us. White and Booker are not up to it anymore.

In the good old days footballers were tough. They played week in week out never complaining about having about playing with a heavy wet leather football. Todays players are a bunch of wet weedy Nancy Boys who get PAID FAR TOO MUCH.

In other news, we'll win as soon as we score more goals than we concede, and we'll be back at withdean when we play our next home game...

:jester:

Or nobody will buy him and he'll suddenly hit form, score goals and stop getting injured and decide to stay and I'll be wrong again ( I'd like it too) :jester:

is it gonna be same ole story ..murray and forster in out of the game all season, i mean murray clearly should retire, surely... we need fit palyers who are gonna turn out week after week, not spend most season on the bench !!

I thought backroom staff was changing - with regards to the injurys this was raised last season with the training regime - perhaps that was the problem last season and not so much Micky ??
