Have we started to become savvy about our internationals?
Send out the ones coming back from injury (Evan and Moder) to get a bit of game time, but stop those who we want to make sure are fit for our own games.
We don't send out internationals. They get picked by their respective countries.

The idea that Ferdi gave a thumbs up to sit at home and scratch his scrotum while his nation is playing games that could be vital to get to the World Cup... think its silly.

Lad has been injured.

Interesting on Ferdi now. Obviously lots of speculation on where he'll play has already come and gone.

But the waters have been muddied even further with Veltman's great start to the season and the return to fitness of Estupinan.

Can't help but ponder, is he a central midfielder now for the coming matches? Especially given our injury travails in that position. I guess that will depend on Wieffer's fitness and how able Pervis will be to be able to play a full part.

On the subject of players on international duty, I believe Ødegaard picked up an ankle injury playing for Norway last night, Konsa limped off injured for England, and Nathan Ake was stretchered off for the Netherlands with what looks like a fairly severe hamstring injury.

Not that I wish injuries on (most) players, but at least the Arsenal fans will have something else to whine about now :)

(Hopefully all the Albion players have made it safely through their matches).

Of course we can’t relax yet, as Paraguay v Brazil is one of the last sodding matches in the IB. Just hope that Julio comes through unscathed, and that Joao sits comfortably on the bench, wrapped in cotton wool. They’re both going to be jet-lagged as it is 🙂

I hope he starts Saturday at left back and puts in a statement performance .

I don't believe the Ferdi thing was deliberate, i suspect he was genuinely injured, otherwise we'd have wanted the pacey option in the squad for Arsenal. As it turned out, didn't matter at all.

I think he probably had the injury when he signed, had the club stalled to wait for it to heal the window would have closed with the probability that we wouldn’t have had another chance at him. I believe they took an educated risk based on the rest of his medical but understandably wouldn’t want that public.
He’s been training just not fit to play, until now…

Form the press conference this morning:

Kadioglu is now fit.
Wieffer is doubtful.
Milner is out.
March not close to a comeback.
Thanks for the update.

I reckon Ferdi might get a place in the midfield

What is the nature of Wieffer's injury again? It was supposedly minor but he's been out of commission for several weeks now. Also, any news re Gruda beside the fact he's back on the grass again?
