there should never be any clapping in a cinema. ever.
I'm also looking forward to Mesrine: Public Enemy no1 which is out shortly.
Not really. I just think people who get off on this genre of film have problems

I would agree the latest round of tortune porn seen in the Saw series, Hostel or Captivity is dubious to say the least but this is a good old fashioned war film where the Nazi's get their just deserts so I do not feel I am in need of a therapist for watching it.
By "genre of film", do you basically mean violent films in general ?
From how you described this film it does not come across as a good old fashioned war film. Scalping people alive! You call that entertainment.
we get it
Films like saw and Hostel where violence is seen as entertainment
Don't think you do mate
I think those are more kind of "horror porn", and would agree they go too far.
Whats your opinion on films like Goodfellas ?
you don't like 'violence in films' and have felt the need to let us know this interesting fact 5 times
i do get it
watching people watch saw, you get a sense of the general desensitisation people have towards other humans. no emotion, no response, just watch a sociopaths idea of entertainment. orwell warned us.
As long as violence is within context and not over graphic and is not the theme of the film then thats OK
