Information For Those Travelling To Cardiff

Bear in mind that all of the pubs will be busier than I thought when I originally posted this. I hadn't thought about the eggchaser's game against Italy, which kicks off at 1-30pm. Their victory over England last week has set the media off, so interest in what was a relatively minor fixture is now high.

That means is that the pubs will be busier than usual, there will be lots of dorks in rugby shirts and it will take longer than normal to get served.

Visiting Fans At Cardiff This Season

Here's a list of the numbers of fans that other clubs have brought to Ninian Park so far this season (the Burnley figure hasn't been released yet):

Coventry 489, Plymouth 403, Stoke 483, Watford 298, Derby 795, Leeds 1,040, Rotherham 137, Leicester 1,071, West Ham 599, Portsmouth 1,152, Preston 57, Gillingham 298, Sunderland 865 , Wolves 1,200, Forest 1,200, Blackburn 926.

West Ham 889, West Brom 1,692, Ipswich 1,154, Forest 1,283, Sunderland 1,558, Norwich 1,103, Palace 839.

The early police estimate is that just 250 Albion fans will travel to Cardiff next week. [/B]

865 was the number of tickets sold by SAFC ,a cash turnstile was opened at NP around 2pm and around 300/400 paid in and wern`t included in that figure.

These are the figures printed in the programme. I thought the Sunderland figure was a bit suspect. There looked to be more that 865. The Portsmouth figure is also doubtful, as their following looked to be the biggest at NP so far this season.

You encountered no problems at Ninian then Mackem?

As you walk out of the car park in the direction of the ground turn left. Turn right at the traffic lights. Walk under the railway bridge, across the road next to the Ninian Park pub, and cross the road at the pedestrian crossing outside the pub. Turn right and keep going until you come to another set of lights with a small newsagents on the corner, then turn left. That's Lansdowne Road. Follow this road for a few hundred yards and you will find the pub on your right.
