They also spread the story about that they'd started out as Wham's backing band, and that the clip you posted was the original arrangement.

Yeah, there was that one, and also kangaroos on the back of the Rigour 7". But I'm sure there was another one with a photo of a reclining kangaroo with it's tackle out, looking like a porn star posing louchely. (Getting some rather bizarre Google search results!)
Maybe it wasn't Big Flame, but it was certainly one of the bands from the noisier end of the c86 spectrum.

God yeah, that place was marvellous. That's where I developed my taste for halva.

I'm guessing we were probably at a lot of the same gigs. I'm trying to remember who I went to see in 93-94. Heavenly at the Royal Park?

this thread is rather large now, I'm assuming this has been mentioned

I am sorely tempted to go Bristol for a weekend ............. have to wait until Mrs Pevenseagull gets back from her holiday before I commit

I have mentioned this before but the girl and bloke talking 1min 43 seconds into the clip look uncannily like the two who sit infront of me in WSU.

As advocated in the Topical Times Football Book 1973; "a welcome 2 - 0 away win should be celebrated by dancing around the room, arms flailing unashamedly, to a wonderfully fuzzy, noisy, melodic, poppy song full of broken heartedness and angst".

Happy to oblige.

How should I celebrate a gritty 0-0 draw away at the local billy big bollox rivals?

"Spunk and tenacity shall be saluted with a brace of pure-pop gems from across the Atlantic, one of which will be a sweet-sounding yet slightly mocking swipe at the 'holier than thou' indie ethic which will be prevalent in 40 years."

Uncanny.

well, I'm on my third listen to this beauty this morning ..............

How long into a relationship can you go with a girl called 'Sarah' before you break the news about what first attracted you to her?

That gets regular outings on my Saturday night personal disco cooking soundtrack - largely because its both brilliant and relatively LONG. (It's hard to get out with chopping vegetables and making pizzas, when you need to stop and choose a new song every 2 minutes!

This same approach landed me at the link below, last night, which you can play to your very own Sarah, by way of explanation...
