Yeah New Hero on a Saturday is a good laugh, waste of time and empty on a Friday though.

I want to agree but I would say recently there's been half a chance Life will be a bit gash. Think it's cuz the students are away. Still miles better than anywhere else, apart from possibly New Hero, which is a different kettle of club.

I used to go the basement and the underground both long since departed for quality indie nights.

The basement ! What a great club. Intimate, sweaty, toilets were horrible but the people were great. Underground (sister rays) was good also, and spent most saturdays in their until it closed. The bloke in the cloakroom always asking if there were any parties after 2am. Looks like i may give New Hero a go then.

i run holdup at life on saturdays, so i will be a little biased, i also use to run tuesdays at the escape it was called life is easy. I also ran until 3 months ago fridays at the pav tav called kick out the jams. before that i was a dj at mad for it and pod and yes i remember the basement.

we still do play a bit of roses and mondays (im 38 and f***ing love them) but the whole point of an indie night and what keeps it fresh is playing new stuff. yes you will hear roses and the cure and the smiths, but you will also hear foals and bombay bicycle club and hot chip.

The whole pride thing we didnt really have a say im afraid, we did inform people on our facebook group. Holdup had no part in pride for the first time in years which is a shame really. as long as they stay away from my kids i dont see the problem.

Fair play to you sir - thank you for the good times and nuff respect. One of my mates got about seven Vampire Weekend songs just by asking the other week, can't say that about many indie nights. Keep up the cracking work and if you ever want a pint or ten me and my chums will happily buy you a few next time we're there

well we were asked to vacate for pride, we normally just do regular night on pride weekend but i think the owners wanted to do a special pride night, was totally out of our control so sorry for any inconvenience, i think it was a lesbian night? £15? f*** thats steep

sir douglas we only charge a fiver in so we dont have guest list as we are half the price of everywhere else
