Great players often make their mark early, as did Cook with his double hundred against Australia when he was only 20. This lad Hameed shows great promise, as draws go they don't come much better than this and England should be in good heart.

Did we declare too late to force a victory? I am not sure but it is Cooks nature to be defensive and ensure not giving them any chance of winning.

Perhaps we could have bought ourselves a bit more time by getting on with it in the morning and setting a target about 15 runs less but I'm totally comfortable that we didn't.

If you think that was 'a bore draw'... as a first test match in a series in India, perhaps you shouldn't bother watching/following/commenting?
