I think these people are getting too much credit. Just a few nutters running around who are fortunately crap at terrorism!

Algie's point though is spreading more and more, whether its true or not. It doesn't matter how many fancy words you use in your arguments, your average Sun reader goes along with just that, and sadly, they make up the majority of the country.

I will never forget being in Manchester the day after 9/11 in a corner shop buying a newspaper and being told by a bloke in a dress how wonderful it all was and then he did a little gay dance. Most people with any experience of something like that will always side on the 'all muslims are terrorists' side of the fence.

In a nutshell:glare:

No of course not, just your 'average' Sun reader, not all of them. Personally I won't even look at it on the shelf ever since they thought it would be nice to show a nice close up of Marc Vivien Foe's face as he took his last breath, dying on a football pitch and cover the front page with it.

I dont allways agree with what the sun print but it's starting to be a bit of a cop out on here lately Timbo, If people dont agree with your opinion you either read the sun or the daily mail! If those same people who say it dont read the sun or mail then how the f*** do they know whats printed in there in the first place?

They really got a good case of Scouse style Victim status.

Of course terrorism didn't exist before 9/11, just ask all those South American countries where the CIA kindly intervened for the benefit of the locals....:glare:

I realise this was an ironic statement, but still let's not forget the failed attempt to bring down the Trade Towers some 10 years previously by carbombing the garages underneath. Underlining that they do try try again until they succeed.

If one were to take a look at their side of things, it would, frightening as it may sound (one would have to drop the xenophobia and 'them towelheads' distancing) be a short stretch of imagination to actually see their point. That Western society is evil, rife with depravation, pornography, crime, devoid of spiritual values, and against the poor - especially the poor in the Arab world. The swings and roundabouts see them losing on both rides, and with an awfully inevitable inclination to blame us! We who stock the oil-rich coffers with gold for King Fahd's bathroom fittings. The Bush regime has not helped this situation in recent times, and especially not GW's cronies. These Arab malcontents have a blame culture that is geared to placing the sole responsibility for all their ills, on ......us. bin Laden has become their respected representative!

The US having actually supplied the arms that fought the Russians in Afghanistan, dealt arms to both Iraq and Iran and contras in two-faced alliances, and fully backed even the most aggressive merciless single-minded Israeli leaderships - it's not a huge stretch of the imagination to sympathise to some extent.

Sadly, the best chances to avoid these stonewall policies were killed by their own;- Itzak Rabin shot by an Israeli, Bill Clinton party power in their own house deposed within months by disgruntled democrats (they lost several seats by not backing Bill C., and then the Reps took over majority in the house), and the subsequent discrediting of him for a simple, secretarial, sexual tryst which hamstrung the Dems for 2 years and gained the Bush party a foothold (for an election they still had to steal!). So, the World power was in the hands of the CIA, Big Oil, and no-surrender and no-ground-or-concessions-given Israeli policy against Palestinians. Cue; backlash, and one that is here to stay for a while.

The best laid plans of mice and men is leaving us a long legacy of repercussions that might take several decades to control, and even longer to cease altogether.
Much of the Arab world does NOT look like moving into a technologically and societal advance any time soon, (while China is taking full initiative on that front right now).

Who will save the world? Probably not mankind, at this rate. Perhaps, fittingly, the mighty cockroach.

I had an experience like that in Sheffield and encountered a number of well-educated young muslims of the same opinion. I don't think all muslims are terrorists but I do believe that their is a significant, if unorganised, threat lurking in their midst with considerable sympathy from a large body of muslims. We could learn a lot from the Tamils experience (they invented suicide bombing) where the greater Tamil population welcomed increased checks on their own movements as they fealt it made them safer and less likely to be drawn into situations beyond their control. As others have said, the people who do these things are generally indiscrimate in their targetting.

No, but if 'your' thick, 'your' more likely to get news/views/opinions from the The Sun than, say, The Indie or The Guardian.

You show me a person who reads all the daily paper's and i'll accept they've got a balanced view, On the other hand you show me the same person and they are either a lazy fucker or they need to get a life.

That,s obvious isn,t it.....they were given a warning...!

And it was internal (ETA) - which makes them Freedom Fighters, obviously! Last time I checked, the Spanish had not particularly pissed off the Muslim fundamentalists. We did.

Also - "The building was evacuated at about lunchtime and shortly afterwards a low-level explosion was heard.

Around 13,000 people have been affected by the disruption, a spokesman for the AENA airport authority, which controls Spain's airports, said.

Some 300 arrivals and departures had been scheduled for Saturday, but during the alert incoming flights were diverted to other Spanish airports or were kept circling. "

They blew up a shoebox and a carrier bag. Amazing what damage a phone call with a keyword can do, isn't it?

That's right - few people get a balanced view.

But a huge amount of idiots in the country are influenced by The Sun.

That was a great read, but "societal"? What's wrong with "social"?

Glad I read the Daily Mail during the week but brought the Express and Telegraph as well this morning for different views etc

As I'm here, what makes me laugh is the word in the thread title 'Incident'. We all know it's those Muslim Asian vermin scum so why do people keep walking on egg shells.

It should read and in all daily news papers 'Scum Muslims strike again'
