Besides, a source close to Ince. WHo the f*** would Andy Naylor know whose close to Ince. Don't forget Naylor is well know for getting most of his stories from this site,

christ talk about over reaction. Doubt Scolari wanted to speak to us either but there is nothing about that on here.
the fact is we know that one bloke turned us down and Knight has spoken to some others apart from that no one knows any more. Have a bit of patience it has to be the right man

Portlock - Not EVERYTHING that goes wrong is Dick Knight's fault ...

I was being sarchy! Re-read Mr Brovion and you'll get the flavour I'm pro-DK until at least Falmer.

I think Dwayne is referring to the announcement yesterday that the process was interrupted due to 'unforeseen circumstances' with one of the candidates. It appears Dwayne is assuming this candidate was Ince. (not, as it seems you took it to mean, that DK added ince to the list and so had to interview more people)

IF that's true, then 24hrs delay isn't worth worrying about. And maybe Ince was interested and changed his mind. We'll likely never know. Just goes to show how tricky losing your incumbant manager can be eh?!

It's rare for a Premiership manager to drop two whole divisions, and we're not even a Leicester or a Leeds at that.

Ince's agent is not stupid and knows that Ince stands more chance of getting a decent job next time around if he's turned down loads of offers from other clubs. We're just one of those clubs who have been played by the Ince camp.

Knight should know better than to waste his time with the likes of Ince, and should be focusing on realistic candidates like Boothroyd, Dowie or possibly Saunders.

I'd don't think he can be classed Premiership. He was only there 5 minutes and lost most of them. On average he's a top of this division manager, which is probably why Dick wanted to meet him in the end. Boothroyd is far more of a Premiership manager if you want to compare records. So you sound a bit contradictory in that respect:thumbsup:

Are you disputing Ince is a Premiership manager? That's like saying Agbonlahor is not an England player because he's only got 3 caps.

Ince was chosen by a side that have been comfortably midtable in recent seasons. This is not a Hull, Derby or Watford we're talking about here, and the Blackburn board are usually no mugs when it comes to recruitment, witness the appointment of Mark Hughes and, more recently, Sam Allardyce.

Ince's level right now is a QPR at best, Southampton at worst, not a side 21st in League 1. That's not to say I think he's a good manager, but that is his level.

Didn't people say the same thing of his efforts to sign McNulty - Why would he want to leave a promotion chasing side on a good run to uproot his family, come to the more expensive south and play in a relegation threatened side that is struggling to win anything?

McNulty was playing for a side strapped for cash and was bound to be sold sooner or later. If he was obviously that good a bigger club would have signed him, but they didn't.

Ince, on the other hand, is a multi-millionaire who is under no pressure to work and can pick and choose which clubs he speaks to.

Being Devil's Advocate for a second, why the f*** would he even think about speaking to us right now?

Rehabilitation of his reputation as a manager. He would perhaps see lower leagues as 'easy' in that he's had success down there. Some people say he got a top job before he was ready for it.

If he comes down to us, or any other lower league team he can take a job he would be confident in, and if he succeeds can start to be seen as a winner. Although as it stands, even Sam Alladyce hasn't got Blackburn out of the relegation zone, so Rovers' failures can't all be down to Ince, Ince's stint in the premiership wasn't a huge success, and he's not ikely to be offered a job in the premiership just yet. Can you see say, Middlesborough giving him a chance if they get rid of Southgate?

Which means, next time a top job comes along, Ince has more experience, more connections, he can point to his success with us (or other lower league club) and he can point to Blackburn's failure, as evidence that he deserves another shot.

If he doesn't succeed with us, how can he be blamed for it? Look at the position we're in when he comes to us. (all hypothetically speaking, of course).

There's also the image the club might have right now having spent a bit of money in the transfer window. Isn't a spending club an attractive offer for a manager?

What a binfest!

Firstly, Ince turned down the chance to be interviewed. Why would that piss off any other potential managers - they know we're interviewing other people and Ince is out of work. It doesn't say we've offered the job to Ince. In fact, they'll be happy that one big name is out the running.

Secondly, NSC was at it's best when we had "Insider" posting on the main board with real information. If you take away rumours from NSC it turns into just a load of crappy banter. People shouldn't be dissuaded from posting rumours they hear
