I handed in the medical report from the hospital to my doctor's surgery this morning (in case they didn't have a copy). The advice was to finish the antibiotics before I have my next x-ray, which may be a couple of weeks.

Had a walk home - not too far - to get some fresh air and exercise. Now I'm going to take it easy and wait for my GP to get in touch.

Thanks once again for all the kind messages of support. Its incredibly comforting.

2 great results in 24 hrs.
Take the meds. Do as they tell you and let's hope the meds clear up the problem. :)

Late to the thread here, but just to say you were in the right place to be ill. It's a very specialist hospital with some very good Doctors on the rota!

A medical emergency can shake your confidence to the core, and that's when you need other people to help you make sense of it all. Kudos to everyone else on this thread for giving that - and sorry I wan't one of them.

Get well soon Durlston

It's perfectly alright mate.

Sometimes when we're in a hurry and had a hectic day a thread can slip down the big board and don't see it.

I've spent the last four hours asleep. Still got a splitting headache though.

Sake Durlston that was a harrowing experience right there. You handled it better than most I reckon.

A big shout to my ward mate Ian Mayo in the vascular level 8. Palace fan but an absolute gent, and his wife; who made a fantastic lemon drizzle cake! The RSCH has admin problems yes but, the front line staff are immense. I met Spanish (numerous), Columbians, Portugese, Singaporeans, Phillapinos (sp?) Indian, Sri Lankan and eastern europeans. All amazing caring people. I had pre-necrotic toes. I could have lost my foot and a drug trial saved it. Bless the staff and NHS!

I'm about a third of the way through the PM'S thanking everyone. If you don't receive one I'm really sorry. Either my battery goes flat quickly on NSC through my larger tablet or it's sausage fingers on my phone!

It may take time but I'll do my very best. I'm feeling so much better this morning and upbeat for the first time.

I'll post next time I have any news. Thank you to every single one of you.

I don't know. There's people on here that have been through a lot worse over a longer period of time and choose to keep their health private.

Thank you to the incredible family of NSC for all the support. :bhasign:

Thank you to each and everyone of you that has contributed to this thread.

The messages of support and PM's I've received have been absolutely overwhelming and shown NSC in a beautiful light. I hope every single poster has received a PM back. I'm very sorry if I missed anybody out. The best 11 hours I've probably ever put to good use! I wanted every single one to be different hence why it took so long despite being off work.

I cannot put into words how comforting it has all been. After tonight's disappointing result I can't deal with all the negativity and want to be off here for a few days until I get some news from either the hospital or my doctor.

I really want every single one of you to take care and never take anything or anybody for granted. Thank you ever so much.

I love you all. Best wishes.

Andrew.

Bloody hell Durlston, I’ve completely missed this thread! So happy it’s a happy ending, although I don’t know you personally, you’re part of the furniture on NSC and I always appreciate your contribution.

Rest up my friend.

Hi Andrew.

Look after yourself, make sure that you get well and back to fitness.

Far more important than the bloody football!

This thread needs to be bounced, as there is more to life than worrying about the game today.
Real life sucks, and today was just another Saturday:)

Well said fella:clap2:

Amazing that some people feel the need to apologise for being ill and needing help. Ive had a lot of hospital visits the last few years due to parent recurring illness and hospitals would be 10 times worse if wasnt for the staff.

I went to A&E last month for myself after vomiting what looked like coffee every 3 hours for 18 hours. Look that up and it will scare you sh**less - probably not on the same scale as coughing blood mind you... While i was there waiting between blood tests , examinations, etc i looked around at the others waiting and thought to myself "you dont look very ill". Chap next to me disjointed a finger trying to get some stubborn wax out of his ear (Sorry but that is just hilarious) and couple (mother/daughter i assume) like me were having lots of blood tests and seeing the mother in tears because the younger one was in pain was quite upsetting at the time but got to see their tears turn to joy when they left as i got up after them to go to my next appointment - whatever she had it must have been a positive outcome..

As others mentioned though, its amazing often how the people with the smallest complaints or self-inflicted complaints demand the most attention - and probably cost the NHS the most money - including one girl of about 13/14 getting all the attention after getting drunk, throwing up in reception and then demanding the staff give her a cup of coffee. Really hope she looks back and remembers her experience the next time she fancies a drink.

Anyway iterating everyone else's response to your current situation - best of luck.

No matter what life throws at you, the Albion’s always there to cheer you up. Or is it the other way round? Confused, where’s that G&T.
