Being a completest I've just finished watching the wholly unsatisfactory 5 and final series of The Wire, so am now looking for pastures new.

I'm usually watching, American, literal, thoughtful, thriller type things.

I started watching it, on BBC4, but never fully commited, my loss.

It's a while since I watched it but I seem to remember they decided to wrap up the series in double quick time just before or just after the start of Series 5 so it's all a bit rushed and not up to the quality of the others? I do definitely remember being somewhat underwhelmed by the last series


To the OP I'd recommend Game of Thrones too, loved it and watched the whole of series 1 over a long weekend, although I'll warn you it's not really an American thriller type thing

As said by [MENTION=19]Icy Gull[/MENTION], I think they tried to cram to much in, with to many story lines, and consequently rushed it, all the while trying to slow it down.

Clay did his best sshhheeeeeeeeiiiittttttt, Bunk rocked throughout (as usual), the newspaper editor was a good character under used, the rest seemed to dial it in.
