Gleeson, Fiennes and Farrell are all great in their parts.

The Dwarf was shot in the head but it was part of the filming he was doing and was alive. Fiennes did not realise that and thought he had shot him for real and then threw a 7 as not to be a hypocrit.

I also watched this for the first time last week, absolute class, especially the bit with the canadians in the restaurant

That's not how I saw it. He did shoot him in the head, but Fiennes thought he was a school kid rather than a midget. Fiennes shot himself because he thought he had killed a child - he didn't realise it was a dwarf.

That was my take anyway

Yup, the killing of the "child" (midget) was the very same reason Farrells character was so screwed-up. Having done that, Fiennes character had no choice within his own moral rules but to top himself.

Agree with the consensus, it was a cracking film. A bit like 'Fargo', insofar as its one that can sneak under the radar a bit, but is utterly brilliant and should not be missed.

That, and it does make you pine for a tasty Belgian brew...

So... did you actually watch it, or just (mis)read the reviews?

Sorry there were no cutesy collies or cycling aliens in it...

I watched it. I agree your take on it was right. Why do you feel the need to be offensive on EVERY post you make. Yes I like ET, yes I thought Lassie 2005 was a good film ( have you even seen it ? ). GET OVER IT WILL YOU !.

I like all sorts of music and all sorts of films. I am not afraid to say something I like because it does not fit into the NSC populist model something you are desperate to conform to.

But then there is NO chance of me ever being as hip, cool and trendy as you alas.
