I thought that Steve Thompson was excellent yesterday. He was always involved in the play and often set us on our way by playing the simple pass. He looked busy and was always willing to put his foot in to break up the opposition play and when an Albion player had the ball he was always showing for the ball. I can see him being a pivotal player in time to come and looks a good signing.

i thought he lined well wil th rest of the midielders, pushed forward well and even had a crack himself late on
Also put in several passes to Forster from what i saw

Yeah Thommo and Hammond would have been good but I think that Fraser could learn a lot from him and when he's fit hopefully they'll get the chance to gel as a unit

When I saw El abd was in midfield my first reaction was thank god out of harms way but to be fair he had a cracking game.....seemed to be everywhere.....good first touch and clean short passing. Not much creativity but I would give him anotgher go there if we are still struggling....

I would like to see the El-Abd - Thompson combo given a few games to develop (although with the current injury situation in the middle of park they might have to out of necessity).
