If it is the home clubs responsibility to police and investigate complaints concerning home and away fans chanting then Crystal Palace are going to have a very busy and expensive day on 1st February.

I can feel a complaint coming on already.

I think all the complainees have missed a trick. Saving all the complaints up for Palace would have been more fun. 2000 complaints on 1st feb, hilarious

I`m not sure where I`m going with this but I was quite annoyed recently when a Pompey supporting friend said that the style and colours of our away kit were all WRONG.

Steady on TT, quiche is ok on occasions but I'm a man who likes his meat. Or a quality mince at least.

You cheeky double entendre merchant ya. Still, a bit of the 'other' never did anyone any harm did it? I mean, I like quality sausage once in a while - as I find a Clam-based menu can become somewhat tedious. Knowotimean?!

If you want a cheeky double entendre, I'll give you one.

As has been said before, that chant is accepted as banter by the vast majority of fans but is 'We can see you sucking cock' acceptable at Leicester, when children are amongst the away fans? When does banter become obscene? Where do you draw the line?

The most obscene thing at Leicester was that person banging the drums with no shirt on

I would like to think that the vast majority on here agree that some of the chanting we have to endure is considered as banter but there are times when it becomes abuse. "We can see you holding hands" isn't a problem but some songs are vile when there are young kids and women within earshot.

And so are some of our songs just as rude as well this is all pretty pathetic in my opinion

If it was racism would you still be saying that?

I really don't know what the perceived problem is with racism. What is wrong exactly with calling someone a Pakky (short for Pakistani) if they're from Pakistan? I would have no problem with someone from Pakistan calling me a Brit because I'm from Britain. What exactly is the difference?

There is nothing wrong with it. I suggest you go up to the next Pakistani person or preferably group of six you see and say it right to their face. I'm sure that they will shake you by the hand and say hello Brit right back.

And that's exactly the way it should be.

I know him well and he is a very sensitive lad who would be very upset you find his physique obscene. Hopefully though he will get over his inhibitions and will manage to go topless when we come to the Amex.
By the way there is a thread on our forum about this subject which prompted me to pop back and I find a fellow Leicester fan being abused- just joking he loves the banter.

Are you for real?!

I do know a couple of Pakistani guys who refer to themselves as Pakkis. I guess it's the same with the "N" word. It's OK to call yourself or your brothers by the "N" word if you're black, but not OK for anyone else. Double standards.

So what's the word for whitey that we can call each other, but if a person of colour used it it would be considered an insult?

Confusing. People are just too damn sensitive. As someone said on an earlier post, "Sticks and Stones".

I know all that. I'm just astonished a grown man had to ask in this day and age what was wrong with calling someone of subcontinent ethnicity a paki? I would expect 5 year olds to know its just wrong. You just don't do it! Unless you want to offend.

Ps - do we need a word for "whiteys"? I mean all these labels are used for abuse purposes in the main. I maybe old fashioned but I use people's names day to day

As a parent who was asked by my 10 year old "why are they singing 'she said no'" with reference to Marlon King on Saturday then I know how difficult it is to explain football chants. He has never asked me why opposition fans sing 'does your boyfriend know you're here?' or why "we" sing "You're too ugly to be gay!". What is banter and what is offensive is a matter of opinion and very personal. I was amused that we were found not guilty of singing "sheep s........s" at Bellamy but know I have heard it sung so many times at Welsh teams/players over the years. On another note I do not find it funny when our 'fans' decide to target a woman and abuse her.....is that acceptable banter?
