Guy from work was at a wedding in Devon last Wednesday.

Only 20 of 80 guests turned up.

By 11pm, just six or so people remained, including bride and groom.

Bride distraught, apparently.

Gotta feel for 'em - but Wednesday? What were they thinking?!

Wednesday. Has to be a Saturday. Also make sure its not a World Cup Final, or any other BIG sporting avent.

Feel for them ,but they did not plan well enough and only have themselves to blame.

Not many people turn out for a midweek fixture. Guests wont be able to bladdered if they have to go to work the following day.

i'm getting married in 3 weeks. Although i've been relatively sensible and planned it all for a saturday, this scenario is the kind of thing that i'm dreading.
having said that, of 120 people asked, 80 have confirmed !

I assume they booked a Wednesday as the reception venue would have been cheaper during midweek than at a weekend. LUDICROUS decision though, specially if you have people travelling from far and wide to be there, having to take a couple of days off from work. And just before a bank holiday weekend as well (where many people already have time off this week for half term etc). What a couple of dopes.

Shame you weren't there. You could have made the bride feel much better. :p

Im lucky, I come from a massive family and weddings always have hundreds of people. Dancing till the eraly hours of the night. Great fun.

I went to a mates wedding a few years back, and It was a bit like this one your talking about. But they had a live band playing. Great you would have though, difficult to dance too.

Sounds nice to me. I'd rather have 6 true friends at my wedding then 200 nobodies.
