I was watching the match with an Everton fan tonight, and the boy was really suffering, if he could have walked out, he would have.

Imagine watching Bobby's first game for Spurs, times it by about 100 because of the sheer hype accorded Rooney's debut because of the Euros and the fact it's Man U, and you're still some way short.

I don't like them, but I enjoy watching them at the moment.

When I started a "Dave Lee - is he the best player in the world?" thread everybody laughed at me. :jester:

Never really seen the big deal about United, they invest in English youth more than anyone else (yeah they do cherry pick but sometimes it's survival of the fittest). Rooney going there is probably the best move for him, his partnership with Van Nistelrooy could be deadly.

They also have Saha and Smith as reserve strikers.

Yep i agree great game to watch last night flare and attacking class like the newcastle team of Keegans

but that sort of team wont win much as a good defensive team can stop them no justice really play the best but win f*** all

but i can live with it as it is Man U

The fact that United were playing against a pub team last night was a bit of a bonus. What perfect opposition to make your debut against. Shrek took his goals well, but if United defend like that against any half-decent team in this competition, they will get an almighty slapping.

i agree maxy

they are about the only club still that continue to bring players through their youth system and have brought some cracking players through, beckham, butt, neville brothers,

Or maybe just the one of them?

Which one? They are both pretty useless!

If we could actually produce decen full backs in this country I am sure Gary Neville would not still be in the England team.

It is, after all, not that difficult to keep Danny Mills and Jamie Carragher out of the team. Especially as he is the England players spokesman and David Beckham's bumchum.
