Same. The oddest thing is that I don't really want to get pissed right now. Thinking more an early night.
Such a selfless gesture. Top man!
I've had a season ticket for 38 years and I can count the number of times I've given a toss who's in the opponents' shirts on the fingers of one hand. And every single time it's been about showing appreciation for what they've done previously in a Brighton shirt - Reinelt at Orient, Zamora before he came back, for example.
I simply don't understand all this crap about wanting to see Ronaldo. It makes the arrogance of those dicks who sing 'You're only here to see United' sound justified. I go to watch Brighton. And the love-in for him from some on here? I separate the important stuff like what happened to his family recently, which is indescribably awful and I can only wish him and his wife all the best in getting over it, from the football.
And football wise, living in Spain so having seen pretty much every game he played for Real before he left on TV, what I recall of him as a footballer is a man who has, in the past, gloried in the spending off of a clubmate in a World Cup, dived repeatedly, particularly in his early days at United and in the white of Real, spat at a cameraman on the pitch after a defeat, thrown a strop on the pitch when a team-mate scored by getting to a rebound from one of his shots before him, and generally behave like he owns football. Watching his anonymity, along with the ineptitude we enforced his entire team to display by playing so bloody well ourselves, just made being there today all the sweeter.
I was getting messages from all my Spanish mates before the game today, telling me how many he was going to score. Took absolute delight in sending pictures of the scoreboard back to them at the end of the game by way of a reply. Voice has gone and I'm knackered from the adrenaline. What a joy, all round.

Shall we take it that you're not a fan of CR7 then?
Oh dear - such a thoroughly nice and modest chap too..................You cleverly divined that from the subtle hints and oblique references to him in my post?
No. No I'm not.
Shall we take it that you're not a fan of CR7 then?
This. Unlike those up the road, this lot stole a cup final from us by cheating. Whiteside, three deliberate handballs? Ramsey? FFS. I wish them nothing but misfortune.
When he signed, I’ll admit I looked for this fixture. Whatever people think of him, he IS one of the best to ever play football.
I was looking forward to being able to say I’d seen him play live, years from now. Then my friend decided to have a wedding this Saturday. The tit.
I have spent most of my years looking forward to playing a team from the top division in a cup. I remember Derek Dougan and Charlie George putting us in our place some time ago.
We have been in the premier for a while now and have by far, the best players I have ever seen in the stripes. in the first couple of seasons we knew our place and struggled through, but lately we have proved capable of going head to head with the best. (OK, City and Liverpool when they're not at their best )
But Utd, the multi-million pound United ? I'll be seriously disappointed if we don't get something out of this, nothing on the game but pride and I can't wait
If we lose now, I'll accept it's all my fault
Looking forward to-
5:30 KO so 2:00 sat on the terrace drinking Harveys in the local country pub waiting for the coach. Not fast, just enjoying the day.
Seeing a living legend look after the Ballon d'Or winner.
Watching CR7 have a good game but not win. Maybe seeing his trade mark salute after scoring followed by VAR offside.
8:00 back to the pub to reflect on the win.
NOT looking forward to-
Seats near me who have 'match day tickets'. Just know they are supporting United.
Being squeezed in my seat because everyone has turned up and PB has made the seats smaller.
Long queues at the bar because everyone has turned up.
Hate my life. Been in Cyprus for 10 days. Sold my brighton ticket on the exchange and flew back early to watch Midhurst v Shoreham playoff final. Should of gone to Brighton game or stayed in Cyprus until Wednesday
