I agree entirely with clapham gull.

I also agree with The Collor Feeler.

We should call it East Brighton Stadium every time we refer to it.

All the posts in the Argus from the misinformed idiots usually call it the stadium

in falmer. In the Argus today several albion supporters have had to tell these idiots

that it is not in falmer it is in Brighton.

So each time we refer to the new stadium as Falmer we are shooting ourselves

in the foot.We are not helping our cause.

Even the news networks refer to it as Falmer stadium.

Dick Knight, tell those reporters and newsreaders, especially Geoff Clarke, that it is

in Brighton.

If the stadium was built in Falmer it would be in the wrong f***ing place and it

would never be built.

Again i agree with The Collor Feeler that we should boycott the word Falmer.

So until it gets it's official name,I also think we should call it east brighton stadium

or similar.

I f***ing hate the word FALMER and all the nimbys.

BRIGHTON BRIGHTON BRIGHTON

IT IS f***ing BRIGHTON.:rant::rant::rant::rant::angry::angry::angry:

It would have saved us a lot of grief if it had been given a different name from the start. I did warn them.

The sooner we get it sponsored and the name changed the better. Can we rename Falmer station whilst we are at it?

It wouldn't have stopped them. The access road was still in their district.

Well according to Sarah (nimby) on the Argus website, this map is enough proof to suggest that the stadium is to be beuilt entirely in Lewes District.

Personally I'd rather we avoid the current trend of sponsored stadiums, and simply called The Falmer Stadium, or something like that.

Good idea, and lose up to a million pounds.

Brighton and Hove Community Stadium :)

Is what many of us suggested calling it. Unfortunately, Falmer for All was coined as the campaign's name and gave the idiots ammunition (IMO). I'm convinced that there wouldn't have been as much support for the NIMBYs if we hadn't used Falmer in our campaign.

Whereas The Brighton and Hove Community Stadium would have disarmed uninformed, lying idiots like her.

I think we're underestimating Lewes District Council and Falmer Parish council. The name of the project wouldn't have made the slightest difference to them.

Just far enough away from LDC

True and the site is in the parish of falmer which crosses into Brighton and Hove, and is in the Moulscoomb ward. The stadium name came before the campaign and was I believe a suggestion by Brighton University who wanted to specifically indicate which of their campuses was the site.

In my view the benefit in getting the uni on side just about outweighs the impact of the name - and the name would certainly not have impacted how FPB and LDC behaved to it.

I like that!

I agree, we need to move on from the name "Falmer" as soon as possible. Personally, I think it never should have been "Falmer", if we'd called it "Moulscombe" no bugger in the village would have admitted it was anywhere near them.
