Ignore user feature

I haven't had anyone on ignore for ages, but doesn't it say something like "You cant see what this post says because this user is on your ignore list"? All that made me do was want to see what they'd written.

What if someone on the list starts a new thread, what happens then?

The same thing. The thread appears on the board, but nothing shows up when you hover the cursor over the title, and if you open the thread, the first post says "You cant see what this post says because this user is on your ignore list".

Is there an extension that makes it possible to view the main board with any threads started by people in your ignore list removed?

Sounds good. Don't have anybody on my ignore list, but seems to me if you care strongly enough to put somebody on such a list so you don't see their postings, then you're highly unlikely to want to see any of their dribbling replies either.
