Is it possible in this day and age to say "You're not having one of those - go and kick a ball around, ride your bike or read a comic..."?

My wife tried that. But I said, hey, I can do what I bloody well like with my wages!

And I've never really liked comics anyway.

i would quite happily have every games console under the sky at our house, but mrs starry is very anti all those sorts of things and always has been. not a battle i really want to fight with her.

not many at the school have the consoles either. we have never been in a "joe has an xbox, why can't i have one..." situation. i guess we have been lucky in that respect.

like race said, kids are expensive whether it's consoles, clothes, hobbies, sports. mrs starry just spent over a hundred pound on some bloody bamboo nappies for a baby that is not yet even born. ridiculous. bamboo?
