Had an interview with 20 general knowledge questions, did ok but felt it was more about how you come across on the show more than what you knew. Evidenced by the poor showing of some who looked good but knew nothing.

I'm not sure that Mastermind is exactly reknowned for its contestants being easy on the eye as a quick glance at its winners gallery will confirm....

The operas of Ludwig van Beethoven.

A bit like Shaun Wallace (him off 'The Chase' when he won Mastermind. His Specialist Subject was FA Cup Finals since 1970 which amounted to about 30 games at the time (really? How much is there to know about thirty football matches?) And not one question about who refereed one) Another contestant had the History of Test Cricket which must've taken in thousands of series let alone individual Tests. It was so wrong.

I think the key to it is to be as specific as possible yet within the ‘rules’ so you can research appropriately.. the broader the subject, the harder it will be.

Can my specialist subject be the spelling of the names of PL teams? :D
