If you were in charge of the Lewes Bonfire tableaux....

Firle, this year, blew up Southern Railway (which exploded up at the end with a very satisfying boom), then had a Bowie tribute tableaux.

Edit: oh, mentioned already above. Still, it was fun.

A very rich crop of targets this year. Clinton, Cameron, Corbyn,Southern, Farage, Gove & Trump (which sounds like a s*** Trumpton roll call). And Johnson too.

You could even make a case for an effigy of the Grim Reaper after all of his handiwork this year. Shocking.

Might have suggested Pardew, but right now he's possibly my favourite manager in the entire League (Hughton excepted)

...what, or who, would you blow up?

I'll hazard a guess that nice Mr Trump will feature this year, but I'm also rather hoping for a large Southern Rail train too.

I'm sure we can think of a few Albion-centric ones :)

Short of flattening Lewes altogether and starting again, the Southerham rounderbout,or at least put some peak hours traffic lights on it.

I can't see beyond a Southern train.

But then again, the whole thing would end up being cancelled.

Firle Bonfire Society featured SASTA last Saturday, with a particular emphasis on the inconvenience that inaction by the train operator was causing to Albion supporters.

They also commemorated the life of David Bowie.

I haven't been for a while but I didn't think that Lewes went in for that type of bias ?
Surely for every SASTA there is an RMT ?
Equally, Trump and Clinton, Johnson and Juncker....

I'd give Dale Stephens a free ticket and a family sized box of matches :)

We are going to need a bigger bonfire i feel for this..... I am sure each and all of us would chip in with fire wood too :lolol:

Yes, indeed. As the traditional chant puts it ... "Remember, Remember, There are two sides to every argument".

I find it really sad that about half the posts in this thread suggest Trump.

Shall we just declare ourselves the 51st state and be done with it :nono:

Didn't four of the bonfire societies do Trump too? You'd have thought they'd at least confer, to avoid duplication.

Even sadder than I first thought then. Unbelievable!

I think it's inevitable there's going to be an interest. To a greater or lesser degree, the identity of the next leader of the United States has some impact on all of us. I happen to think the world will be a nastier place if Trump wins, hence I've paid attention thus far.

A nice tumbril containing Cameron, Merkel and Junker would be good, each stuffing their pockets with Euros.......................

But the obsession with that nation and it's increasing domination of our culture seems to just keep on growing.

I'd like to see an effigy of US cultural imperialism burnt personally.
