To play in the CL , have a far bigger budget for players and to go from earning around £2.2 million a year to around £6m is a difficult thing to turn down . I hope he does turn it down but if he gets offered the job I suspect he will take it .

You can’t take it with you, and many would find it difficult to spend two million a year.

Personally I wouldn't (and that's not because I have had an intense dislike for Chelsea for years). If I had a job I was happy going to work at in the morning, with £millions in the bank and the guarantee of more £millions to come, why would I want to move?

But that's me - and I've never understood the need that people with £millions in the bank seem to feel to chase even more £millions - and I never will, regardless of whatever arguments people might put forward..

Chelsea is a job that presents life changing money for him, puts him competing with the cream of Europe, and their academy is the envy of the majority of domestic football, which will be a huge plus.

I sincerely hope I'm proved wrong, but if he was going to stay, surely he would have declined a meeting with them?

If he goes he will have to get some earplugs if he doesn't hit the ground running.
I think he is doing a brilliant job at the moment but it looks inevitable he will go.

Yeah, sadly I think that's it. If he wasn't really interested he would just have said (as he has in the past) "Very flattered to be linked to a club like Chelsea, but I've got a job to finish here at Brighton" and he wouldn't even have met them.

I think he's likely to go - but I don't agree with this. Even if he was 99% sure he wanted to stay, he'd be stupid not to at least listen to what Chelsea have to say - and Graham Potter is not stupid. Or it could just be a poker move to get (another) payrise at the Albion.

Other than wishful thinking on our part I can’t see how he doesn’t take this. He is bound to be an ambitious guy and it’s a big opportunity even apart from the wages on offer. Yes the club is a bit of a shitshow, but worst case scenario is it goes wrong and he gets an enormous payout and another good job somewhere else afterwards.

I wish he would stay, but I would be shocked if he did.

I'm starting to get the impression that Tuchel and Chelsea fell out over transfers. From what I've gleaned from interviews today, perhaps Todd Boehly and his advisers may have been buying players for TT, without his sign off.

I get the impression from GP's previous statements about an aligned club all pulling in one direction. This top down hierarchical attitude may not sit well.

Perhaps this ain't a done deal?
