If you were to be a vocalist either in a band or as a solo artist whose voice would you like to be blessed with?

And conversely whose voice would you prefer to not be saddled with?

Please note this is not a best and worst singer thread.

For instance there may be some technically very good singers whose voice you just find particularly grating, or there may be those whose vocal abilities are somewhat limited but their voice has a certain unique quality which appeals to you. I suppose your choice of singing voice will be determined by the kind of material you will be singing.

A word of caution, please choose your singing voice with care and consideration because once chosen you are stuck with that voice for the rest of your singing career...

I'd say Tom Jones purely because he's had such a long career and still playing to full houses

Barry Manilow, George Michael, Robert Plant or Lemmy if male. All 4 voices are sublime IMO.

Female voices for me Janis Joplin, Kendal Carson, Dolly Parton, Sister Rosetta Tharpe or Helen Shapiro.
