If you could sign one Championship player...

I don't understand the desire to sign a striker.

We need who ever is leading the assist category from centre midfield.

For all we know we already have the best and most clinical strike force in the Championship.
It would seem highly unlikely, but Bournemouth away would suggest it's not completely bonkers.

Another striker would just fail again from poor service.

Fair enough...but if you could only have one of them who would it be?

Howson or Bryson, as quality box to box midfielders who will chip in with goals. Something we are def missing since crofts injury - but I'd say both are a step up from crofts.

Ross McCormack assists and goals sorted from one chubby little package!

Deeney. If fit basically he guarantees you at least 20 goals a season. After 6 weeks out he's just got five in the last two games and nine days.
.

Playing in our team I don't think anyone could guarantee 20 goals.

Well its is a more light hearted thread ....and when Bent goes back we are presumably left with 2/3 strikers of similar stature and personally my choice centres around a guy who has physical presence and a bit of a voice around the pitch

Agree that Deeney and Bryson are excellent shouts - both fill obvious holes in our squad.

Grant Leadbitter.

Agree with you two. Leadbitter was superb against Derby at the weekend. Completely dominated the midfield. Henri Lansbury is another one.

Tommy Smith (Ipswich) is a beast of a centre back so him or Will Hughes for me.

Probably also worth making the point that a fit Andrew Crofts wouldn't go amiss.

Christ we've missed him the past two seasons, so unlucky for him mainly but also the team.

Chalk up one more vote for Bryson.

Honourable mentions to Bamford, Redmond, Antonio, Marshall. Oh and Deeney obvs.

Just having a quick look through the thread, it seems like Deeney, Bryson and Hughes are the current popular choices.

Quite surprising to see a few left backs named, never crossed my mind to suggest a new one.
