Tonight, my pal Bob said 'if you could have any player from England's past, at their peak, in the side now, who would it be?'

(We both took about 400 milliseconds, the time it takes to react to someone swinging a punch at you, if you are alert, to say "Beckham").

Thoughts? Not that it will help save us from ignominy, desolation and constipation at the world cup that none of us will be watching, shortly.

By 'the side', you couldn't mean anything else than the Albion and, accordingly, I'll go for Lineker -- he'd absolutely clean up, and we'd be challenging City for the PL.

Given that, with no crosses anticipated from Bob's team, and Lineker's notorious aversion to heading the ball, you are 110% spot on :lolol:

But as you fully well know, I did mean 'for England' ???

Falmer, soon...
I think the problem with England isnt technical its mental. Whomever it was would have to be a leader.
There are a few candidates but I'd take Shearer or Robson due to the aggression and desire.
