one of the downsides of warfarin is you can't take anti inflamatories, ie ibrupofen etc.

I have a rotator cuff problem in my shoulder which is normally helped by a cortisone injection and ibruprofen. it's gone again and bloody agony

what do you take to help with this sort of pain?

Do not take aspirin- it increases your bleed time ( inr ) further, and could be dangerous.

Parecetemol is ok

Any Paracetamol based pain killers are ok, i have used ibuprofen in the past but it is reccommended that you dont. I believe it thins the blood further, but so does alcohol and most of us still drink in moderation. Phone your anti-coag unit they should have an emergency number, failing that NHS 24.

Having been on warfarin twice myself and knowing how dangerous it can be mixed with other medication, the only advice i'll give is seek professional help !

Aspirin no. Paracetamol more than fine. Something like ibuprofen gel would be fine too providing youre not using gallons of the stuff.

thanks folks.....unfortunately, paracetamol has no effect....this is caused by my shoulder joints calcifying and the tendon gets trapped as it gets inflamed! hense it was great being able to take inflamatories.....

I'll have a go with ice and strong paracetemol.
