Not as many as people think. Parachute payments (those payments that everyone thought was immoral a few seasons ago) obviously help along with transfer fees for anyone who does leave. The mass exodus would come if the first season down doesn't at least end up with a play-off place.

Ryan, Duffy, Dunk, Webster, Montoya, Bernardo, Gross, Stephen's,Propper ,March, Jahanbaksh. Maupay. Probably a few others. We will start the following season with Button, Burn, Balogun, Bong ,Izquierdo, Macallister, Mooy, Murray and Connolly. It may need some work

I'm guessing they'll be a few players who do something similar that Huddersfield did with us and Mooy, season long loan to a lower half/newly promoted club, in the hope we can get back up , whilst taking PL wages off the balance sheet and not pissing players off who want to play at a higher level and have suitors.

White would stay at Leeds on loan if we swap places. Could see Maupay going on loan to.

Bloody merchants of doom, won't it be awful for you if we stay up .... which we will!

Personally reckon we'll nudge ourselves over the line with a bit of time to spare.

But it's interesting to think of the alternatives, doesn't make anyone a doom merchant

True. How many players left Hudds, Fulham and Cardiff after last season? Mooy and Sessegnon are 2 that come to mind, but were than many others?

The Black Country
Ryan, Montoya, Dunk, Duffy, Mooy, Bissouma, Propper, Groß, Trossard, Jahankabash, Izquierdo

Clubs might try to tempt White, Alzate etc away too but if not then we could actually have a pretty exciting team next year

NewGK
Webster - Duffy - White
Alzate - Mooy - Molumby - Bernardo
Connolly - Maupay - March

It’s never easy to bounce back up, but the quality of the championship is pretty f*cking low atm. Would be fairly confident of a top 6 finish with Potter in charge.

Would we need a new goalkeeper? Don’t forget, we have Walton (a solid championship keeper) and Sanchez (a good back up) both out on loan. Can’t see Duffy or Bernardo staying in the event we went down, but we’d have Clarke or Burn to fit in to a back three, March could play wing back and AK could return in a blaze of glory to complete your front three.

I’m still hoping these discussions are totally hypothetical though...

Ryan, Trossard, Mooy & Propper - to preserve their international places/hopes.

Izquierdo, Jahanbaksh, Andone, Locadia, Gross and Maupay - wages too high for our (down by £45m) budget.

Dunk - his chance to play for a huge PL club such as West Ham, Leeds, Watford or Stains, with £100k a week wages.

Mooy wouldn’t hang around. Far too good for the Championship.

Paul Barber and Ashworth hopefully

Paul Barber seems to be a decent chap to me. Always communicating well on social media, personal e mails, and seems to be the go to person when Talk Sport want to talk about Brighton. He also was not brought up as a Brighton fan.

As for Ashworth. Anonymous.

There will not be too many takers given their wages and the sort of season they will have had.

Maupay is the key player, a goal scorer who will be wanted elsewhere but vital that we keep.

Could see a few staying

I could see a few players staying, such as Stephens and maybe even Ryan - Burn would almost certainly stay he only just signed a new contract.
